Predicted Lineup

Prediction
Arsenal 2-0 Sp**s

From the Fighting ****

Roll on Fulham at home. Write this one off...

Are we even going to be able to put out a semi decent xi? ****ing injury after injury. Can't see anything other than a loss. Nobody is going to step up for this.

I take it this is away .
Won’t be pleasant at all. Will be pretty much camped in our own half most of the game . A lot of sideways and backwards passing going absolutely nowhere . There will be no shots on target. If we do manage to score it will be from a set piece. It will be a standard Sp**s visit to the emirates
Thankfully I will be at a butlins weekender so I won’t be watching

See this is a free hit. We're the underdogs, nobody expects us to win, so no need to be nervous. If we lose, it was expected.

I ****ing hate them all so much on a personal level and I've never met any of them.

What I wouldn't give for an ugly 0-2 VDV & Romero and Palhinha slides in fiercely on the sideline and catches that **** Arteta "by accident"

I can’t lie. I’m not looking forward to this game at all.

I wouldn’t mind trying to postpone it. Make up some bullshit reason just to piss them off because they can’t ****ing wait for this.

Hope half of their players come back from the International break with long-term injuries.

COYS.

Any points we can take off them is huge.

I noticed we are 8/1 for the victory .I will definitely chuck £20 at that!!! COYS.

We've got a good away record but it's Woolwich. I never really believed that the form book goes out the window for a derby.

Don't do anything stupid like we did for Utd's first goal, and try to limit the amount of corners and free kicks they get and we could get something out of this if luck is on our side. But I don't think we have the physicality that Sunderland did.

Feels like so long since we've shown up against them now.

Playing away probably increases the chance of a result from 5% to 10% so there's that.

Just make it tough for them. It’s been super frustrating watching them go for the title for the last 3 seasons, makes things even worse that we’ve been gifted wrapping them 6 points each season in that time.

Just haven’t been making it anywhere near difficult enough for them.

At this moment in time if we come out of the game with enough fit players to field a team in the next game and not get a hammering it will be a result.

I feel the next 3 games are a watershed moment for Gyokeres’ Arsenal career, he needs to start showing he can influence and score in the bigger games.

It's funny, there's been a lot of noise about our injured players coming back after the international break but we could very well still be missing all of them for the NLD.
Gyokeres been pictures in training the last couple of sessions so you'd presume he's fit now. Madueke was supposedly nearly fit for Sunderland so he should be too. Dunno how reliable that is though.

Having those two in back in particular would be massive for us. Hopefully Martinelli can be available too.

He clearly had his best game in an Arsenal shirt by a country mile just before he got injured. Has he been gone so long you forgot?

By a country mile, against Burnley.

You either didn’t read my post throughly or class Burnley, a team likely to be relegated, as a big game.

Every game is "big" if you want to become PL champion. We would have beaten Sunderland if Gyokeres was fit - that's two extra points we would have had in the bag.

He’s yet to have a shot on target against a team in the top half (United, Liverpool, City, Palace) and no goals against anyone above 16th.

So far he’s been exactly as described, a small team killer who can’t get his game off a good, settled defence. The next 3 games can go some way to disproving it.

At this stage of the season, that is about as irrelevant as Saka scoring his first goal outside of the capital (London) for x months or what the table looks like without set piece goals.

Well no as these were concerns raised before his signing and so far have been justified, hence the next 3 games being important or Mikel will have him benched for the big games in 2026.

We scored twice against Sunderland. We should have won that game, with or without Gyokeres.

Yes but we lost all our ability to contest the middle due to having no forwards who could threaten on the break. Did you see how Sunderland scored their equalizer? It was due to their CB Ballard not having to worry about Merino and camping himself in our box. Gyokeres being on the pitch in this period means this doesn't happen.

They were minor concerns but he scored a hatty vs City in the CL and has a good CL scoring record against decent quality opposition. Again, this statistic is irrelevant given how young the season was when we were playing those games + VG acclimatizing to our style and vice versa. We are far more threatening from open play vs what we saw in the first couple of games.

Hincapié was in Toronto and will travel to Quito and then to London, three transcontinental trips, and he will likely play the full last match and won't return to Arsenal until Thursday

I hope he will be ready for the match

We had enough powerful players on the pitch to deal with Ballard. I understand what you’re saying and agree to a point, but two goals away at Sunderland with the quality we have defensively, it’s not down to Gyökeres availability that we lost points there.
