I think you forced to over play them when you got no options arteta been managing the squad well but that Ode Noni and Kai injuries mess things up for us but apart from Sunderland game id say we coped well but it can't continue we missing 5 players 6 if you include Jesus. We can afford 2 injures upfront we'll still have options but not 5 lol
I agree we had little options with forward players, but why not use the defensive players? There were about 4-5 defensive players in our bench and we chose to use only Mosquera.

yeah man, this is terrible horrible pressing from our forward especially for club like arsenal who arguably best defence in the world right now

we gave them so much freedom to play football in our area

You know what, hats off to Dan Ballard. He has come on leaps and bounds as a player. Back in the day he used to partner with Bielik at the back. Only posters like @MutableEarth and @Geofranco will understand....

Was always a rugged physical defender when he was in our youth team and he really has stepped up his game and become a more refined defender. He was a lot smaller back then too but he's grown and has a lot of strength.
I always rated him. He was amazing in the youth FA cup final against Chelsea.

He substituted Eze for Mosquera when we went 1-2 up to try and seal the win. What else would have you suggested at this point out of curiosity.?

If he bought in more defensive substitutions where would he have put them.?
Using all his subs and take off all those exhausted players. As I said to other members, I would refreshed the whole attack and midfield some don't defend parking the bus but pressing and with possession. Nwaneri up top to press, Nørgaard for Rice, Hincapié for Cala. Dowman for Saka at the end to be a threat for them. Using the subs it's a way to waste time and slow the things as well. Not using that resource is a rookie mistake also.

------------- Nwaneri
Trossard - Merino - Snowman
---- Nørgaard - Zubimendi

That way you refresh everything for the end and waste at least 2-3 minutes with those subs.

I remember his partnership with Mark McGuinness more. They won the PL South with a strong defensive record. Ballard was awesome though. The line-clearances!

This result (plus City winning) we have a proper Title battle on our hands here ladies and gents!

City aren't as good as they were when they beat us and Pool to the four championships in a row, we are the better all-round team now I feel... but they do have winning experience that we just don't have with this current team, and while I know some of you don't think that matters but I really feel it does...50/50 battle in my book.

If Arteta can become the first person to stop that mad pr1ck Pep never going 2 years without winning a league, then I will take back all my doubts on him as a manager.

But I am worried now everyone, don't trust Mikel at all in a head to head with baldy...big proving ground for 2026 Arsenal coming up here🙏

I think Ive found a disliking to another team now, Sunderland, they played a bit rough & physical trying to take our players out. I was disappointed in Ballard doing that early elbow to Merino, looked like it was pretty purposely done. Didn't even bother to see if he was good. If people don't mean to they usually check up on them.
I've disliked Sunderland since they ended Diaby. I think Middlesbrough is the only tolerable club in that region

Just seen the MOTD highlights & looks like we gave it everything tbf

Not sure Gabriel can be blamed too much for the equaliser. He threw his head in the way of where he knew Brobbey would be kicking & Raya also threw his body towards it, so ultimately kinda brave defending. We cannot be perfect defensively the whole season.

The fact this feels like a defeat says a lot tbh & Sunderland celebrated as if they'd won the game.

Perspectives.

Whether Arteta bottles or refs keep being corrupt, Arsenal look doomed to not win the league.

Oh get a grip man, ffs.
Last season I was right, this season of we don't correct our attacking we will win nothing again. Bookmark this if you don't believe me. Until Arteta can set a more flexible and unpredictable attacking and stop being dependent to set pieces then we won't win silver.

Why was Zubimendi (1.81m) competing with Dan Ballard (1.87m) for the header leading to the Sunderland equalizer - notice Saliba (1.92m) is there as well but didn’t jump as Zubi was already competing.

Oh well.

Just saw the post match interview with Regis Le Bris - not what I was expecting at all, thought he'd be a northern butcher with that name... feel a bit silly now.

You pretty much always sound cultured with a French accent though

And Craven Cottage...
Yeah, there are so many rough away games nowadays. The PL has never been this even before, at least what I can remember. My theory is that the average tactical knowledge is much higher than what it was 10+ years ago. It felt a bit like the managers who wasn't in the top only had 1 or 2 kind of strategies of how they would tackle the game.

Like Everton was a team that was knocking on the door to CL year after year in to 00s, and they had Moyes as their manager. Today you have great tacticians like Glasner in Palace or Iraola in Bournemouth, who btw would be my choice as a manager if Arteta disappeared.
