Refs didn't sanction this

Whether Arteta bottles or refs keep being corrupt, Arsenal look doomed to not win the league.
The second picture is not the reason why they gave the penalty, and Im sure that you also know that. It was a clear penalty every day of the week.

This is were the real contact is, and it might look "silly" on the picture but if anyone haven't seen it in full speed. Go ahead and do it.

Lmao, these fans, the expectations of fans are delusional. 4 points clear after 11 games. with a projected points tally of 90, get a grip.

Regarding the game itself i have a few thoughts which have probably been mentioned but i wont be reading all of this.

1) This was probably the most physical game i have seen in the prem in a long time, however for current standards it was taken too far. Sunderland were aiming to leave a bit on someone with every tackle, i remember Saka being wiped out several times with limited attempt to get the ball. The fact only 3 yellows were given was wild.

2) Ballard is a solid defender and also a complete thug lol. he knew what he was doing when he left his elbow out. in the 90's it was considered part of the game but now it isnt. there was a moment in the second half where he was jostling with someone then put his arms around his neck and threw him to the ground. I remember this happening to V. Gyökeres in another match (maybe newcastle). If any of our players are doing this we they are getting booked. Others seem to get away with it scott free.

3) Eze isn't it. He has had a good run of games but offers very little. I wasn't hyped for his arrival as i felt he looked good in a poor team, he slows the game down and doesn't have a pass in him, maybe he is being asked to play a role he cant and the low block he faces doesn't suit his style which is fair enough. however Palace are doing really well without him this year... which tells a story in itself.

I’m not sure Eze is good enough either for our aims but Palace are 10th, that’s par for them.

Lads city have been piecing things together and they've one loss in like the last 13. They're improving and always improve after Xmas. They'll be fairly relentless 2nd half of the season again. All teams will drop pts but I think some posters on here far too complacent and arrogant about our league position and outlook.
I don't understand this fear of City. They're not a particularly good side. Liverpool just happen to be an even worse side. Give them a game or two. They'll lose again real soon.

I agree on point #1 - I just wish the referee was more consistent. This team can get physical too but it seemed this ref was only interested in calling fouls on Arsenal.

Ballard won't get away with this in a high level European game, so if he wants to stay in the lower depths of a the EPL, he can continue. The plays leading to his goal was one of the most bizarre sequences of events in the history of this stingy defense. The normally proactive defense went reactionary. Lapses happen but boy was that the wrong time!

I disagree with you on Eze. He's being asked to play a different role, which is not an excuse, but takes time. Football has changed so much, it's becoming more and more like the NFL....when you join a team, you have to study their "playbook" . At Palace he was never asked to be the lead blitzer out of possession. What I do love about him is that he's truly committed to the Arsenal playbook and working at it, you can see that. The man is a good player and it will show with time. We win this Sunderland game and no one's even looking at his effort.

They're breaking in new boys Cherki, Rejineers or whatever his name is. Bernado Silva is old, and their defense is porous. They're not the old City.

How the cretins on social media have reacted to us DRAWING a game 😂😂

We are so rent free. They’ve been waiting WEEKS to come out from under their rocks to comment. We are massive and causing so much pain. Gonna be a real sweet title win.
One Arsenal Youtuber said he was doing a livestream during the match and when we conceded his viewer count kept going up and up and "Arsenal fans" (his quotes) were commenting about how poor we were. Then when we equalised and went 1-2 up they literally watched the viewer count go down and down and down. He said these people would rather see us do badly so they can be proven 'right'.

I can't believe we're still doing this in big 2025 🤔

Is their defence porous? It's not at the level of our defence but they're keeping a lot of clean sheets and not giving up many chances

Yes it is in comparison to ours, especially underlying numbers (xGA). Bournemouth were slicing them open at will at the Etihad and should have scored more than they did.

In comparison to ours yes but against most of the opposition in the PL it seems tight enough to keep clean sheets or only concede little. Enough to win them most matches. I also read that as a pair city haven't lost a game or conceded more than 1 goal in a game when gvardiol and Diaz are at centre back together.
But perhaps the gap between our defence and their might be the small margin needed.

The fact is that City have already lost 3 games this season despite it only being MW11. They will do extremely well to keep their L count to below 6.

Arsenal Quotes

I want a fan to wake up in the morning and say, “Arsenal are playing today, I’m going to have a good time.” That guy starts his day off by thinking that something good is going to happen to him. And to do that, big clubs like Arsenal have to have the ambition to play spectacularly. Of shared happiness.
