It might get people excited, but is this game really the right game to throw him in? He's a great talent. Is this really where you want to start him? It is easy to get all excited, but there is a career to be managed here. We have good games coming up where he can have a good experience.

You have to take the question seriously.

I'd hope he acquits himself well & comes through this baptism of fire unscathed.

If he does, it'll undeniably prove his mettle & will definitely be incorporated into the side a lot quicker by Tets.

Disappointed at how we've streaked into the lead of the crocks league but we still have enough to win against this mid table team.

Having said that our record there is not as good as it should be, we need to resist temptation to play a derby and just play our football. Let them huff and puff and let us clinically dismantle them as we can do. In a way I think Arteta is better than Wenger at this derby, less emotionally invested. It's relatively early days but at the moment his record at WSL is better than Wenger's.

It's a shame we miss Rice, Ødegaard and Merino, this really requires adjustments to our normal game. Partey and Jorginho playing a high line will mean we don't end this game with 11 on the pitch.

Trossard will probably start for Ødegaard - I don't think Nwaneri starts here which is why it would have made so much sense for him to be blooded earlier - and Jesus is not certain to play. Which means Kai has to lead the line and can't do midfield. I would love to see Nwaneri come on though. Given their cluelessness at defending set pieces I would like to see us end the game - if they are all available - with Calafiori, Saliba, Gabriel, White, Kiwior and Kai on the pitch.

2-1 to the Arsenal, 2-0 if Raya pulls off another wondersave.

Forgot to say.... fully expecting Sterling to have a brilliant debut.

I think you may be right about Sterling - we may end up with egg on our face come Sunday evening, but I have a positive feeling about him coming out the blocks.

I’m Loving Big Ange Instead

I was never not entertained by a Wenger team.

And by the way, Wengerball is better than anything Ange has done with Sp**s and probably will do with Sp**s, even the latter day Wengerball. Far more dynamic play and movement between the lines, patterns would appear and disappear from match to match, all based on the players chemistry and inventive play.

So its interesting that you call Wengerball a snoozefest for not breaking down low blocks. And then in the very next sentence want to talk about Ange who only plays exciting football, yet his team also have no clue on how to break down low blocks.

But.... as you were, Ange only delivers exciting football and Arsenal are boring. You have to deliver on your agenda of course ;)
Aight that's me stopping this convo(after this) with you cause you litteraly don't read my posts or you are just like another maga supporter mentally. This is insane. I said this "The last years had some snoozefests" note: not sure if you can read but it clearly says HAD SOME.

And you gave me this as reply: So its interesting that you call Wengerball a snoozefest for not breaking down low blocks. And then in the very next sentence want to talk about Ange who only plays exciting football, yet his team also have no clue on how to break down low blocks.

Also another quote of my post: But generally, especially if we count his first half, the football was 10000000x more entertaining to watch than what we get served now. Note: I said Ange is 10x more entertaining than Arteta. Wenger is 10000000x more entertaining. So this means Wenger is clear of both Arteta and Ange in entertainment part no?

So here is your reply on this: So its interesting that you call Wengerball a snoozefest for not breaking down low blocks. And then in the very next sentence want to talk about Ange who only plays exciting football, yet his team also have no clue on how to break down low blocks.

You are trying to find things in words that aren't there. Lay it down ffs

Our squad depth is actually pretty decent when you deep it, tbh.

We are missing our whole midfield for this, but can still put out a team I think can win an away NLD.

We weirdly feel both short in numbers but also stacked in numbers lol, funny club we are 😅

Honestly feel very excited about this game.

Going through the options available, it’s made me realise when we have a fit squad we have so many great options now and a lot of versatility available in all areas of the pitch. And for now even with Ødegaard and Rice out, we got enough to still put out a good team.

I’m really starting to like the transfer window business more as time goes on. Picking up Sterling will (hopefully) prove to be vital.

I think in the final stretch our depth will actually start to show. I just hope this current spate of injuries and new recruits/promoted players not being fully bedded in yet won’t hurt us too much.

Isn't this a bit like feeling excited about a visit to the proctoligist?

It’s the result of strong squad building, I think. Pretty much everyone can do a job when called upon.

Despite all our moaning, when 3 of your starting midfielders are out injured and you can still field a team that can (and imo should) beat your local rivals (and most teams generally) then you’ve done built something well.

Line up is pretty obvious tbh.

Same back 4, Jorginho and Partey as a two, Trossard and Havertz rotating between midfield and false 9, Saka picks himself then Martinelli on the left. Only possible spanner I am expecting is Sterling starting over Martinelli but just don’t see that happening. Then you have Sterling and Jesus off the bench, both work horses. Don’t think we’re going to miss Odegaards press.

Only way I see this selection not happening is a concern for Jorginhos match sharpness considering his age and lack of playing time

Basically said it's up to the doctor and they need to do some more tests but Ødegaard is positive and wants to play as soon as possible and wants to be in the NLD. "We have to wait and see."

Reference to NLD might not actually mean he has a chance to play, I'm assuming not.

Arsenal Quotes

I believe one of the best things about managing people is that we can influence lives in a positive way. That’s basically what a manager is about. When I can do that, I am very happy.
