Congrats to Arteta and the boys. It was a really good team performance where every single player sacrificed a part of their own game for the collective. I couldn't stop laughing that the midfield pensioners lasted the whole game and were pretty untroubled. I'm delighted that Nwaneri had such a good cameo in such a high value match. But the mist pleasing thing for me was the brave/risky passing that we tried to win the game. It was a bit freestyle but the intent was welcome. It will pay off in other matches (or cost us). Well done to Arteta on his tactics and offensive subs. If Jesus and Sterling can start firing, we'll have a good first 18.

So it was a new passing experiment? I was just wondering why we kept misplacing them

Good game, we didn't play great football but got the result with effort and concentration (apart from white mistake). If we draw against city at Etihad then we are in good spot to compete.

I wouldn't call it an experiment but these passes looked deliberate to me. We are usually quite safe and these were a bit handbrake off.
It is related to how we played. Directly quick transitions needs longer passes which means less % accuracy. When playing possession and high line means players are closer each other, closer passes and less space so less direct football.
