No I want us to win but it's just not as entertaining. I'd rather win the title with this crappy watch than be entertaining and sit 2nd. But I just don't enjoy the footie anymore as before that's all.

Our football is great most of the time. The difference is we're now pragmatic and I love it.

There is not one element of football where we don't try to maximise its potential. We seem to work on things like throw ins and kick offs, in order to make them dangerous. It's why our set pieces are so highly regarded.
This attention to detail and being able to change plans dependant on game state is one of the things I love about this team.

Nah I much preferred it when we were expansive no matter the opposition and circumstances and got smashed 6-0, 8-2 etc. Much more 'entertaining' (apparently).

They don't.

Your assumption is that other strikers bring what Havertz does and what they do on top of it. It's just not true.

Havertz is probably Europe's best link-up and press striker right now, or at least in the convo.

What? Havertz is the best link up player? He is completely worthless passing. He can’t do those 1-2s with Martinelli and play a basic through ball. His short passing game is worse than his terrible striking. Replacing Xhaka with Havertz was a big part of the downfall of Martinelli.

You guys throw these bs best in Europe titles. What hold up play? His 5 yards sideways passes makes the best hold up player in Europe?

Nothing he does makes up for his awful short passing in build up and lack of goals. Because he is a striker. His link up play is awful

This is what I love about Arteta - he gives 110% to every detail, every facet of the game.

Brother I do love your posts, but surely you have warmed a little to Kai, they guy does such a great job for us. He also has something like 19 G+A in his last 19 games.

Yes. I conceded he is better than he was first half of the year. But if we really want to overhaul City and Madrid we got to be ruthless. I love Martinelli his performances aren’t good enough. I actually like Kai. He is a good pro and person. But as starting striker for league title winning team he is not good enough

I’m still buzzing but also petrified for Sunday if Partey plays. His sloppiness can be masked against those ****’s, but City could seriously punish that.

He was excellent against them in the Community Shield last year. He's capable of putting together a clean performance against them. His presence will also allow Rice to be a bit more aggressive and stop Rodri from having the freedom to dictate play. We can be compact but also a bit more aggressive in possession with both Rice and Partey playing. He could of course have a drunk moment but the precedent is there for him performing well against them in recent memory.

Yeah I’m happier now Rice is back for protection. But he gives me palpitations. Misplaced passing and loss of possession was clear to see on Sunday.

Oh believe, me I understand. I'm right there with you. I hold my breath whenever he's on the ball but hopefully he'll put in another good shift against them.

Didn’t he get turned by Foden for their goal coz he went charging in as usual and couldn’t get the ball?

IIRC you also said he had a great game for Brighton and I had to point out his role in their goal.

The Bat-glasses need an upgrade me thinks…

Partey did have a good game against Sp**s but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous playing him against City…

He may have, I genuinely don't remember. What I do remember is that they were doing nothing until Tierney came on for Timber and as soon as that sub was made, Palmer immediately scored and Tierney was partially at fault. That's what stuck with me more than anything Partey may have done prior to the goal but you might be right and I just don't remember it. I'm nervous every time he's on the ball but I did like the fact that him playing as the 6 allowed Rice to stop Rodri from playing and gave us more of an ability to retain the ball and mount our own attacks against them than we had in the match at the Etihad.

Arsenal Quotes

When you start supporting a football club, you don’t support it because of the trophies, or a player, or history, you support it because you found yourself somewhere there; found a place where you belong.
