Yeah my gripe was with the term "project" when we're talking about a state funded super club.

Top coach + infrastructure, can't deny that.

And top players as well… I mean who would refuse to play with the likes of Dembele, Vitinha, Nuno, Hakimi or Doue and under Luis Enrique. Like him or not, Luis Enrique has a a project and is executing it.

Diomande deciding to go to PSG is so ****ing weak but I’m sure there’s gonna be people who like the player who will excuse the decision made

Why wouldn't you be happy over a huge talent joining a team abroad over our domestic rivals?
It’s got nothing to do with whether I’m happy about the move or not, I personally think it’s weak. It’s Rice choosing City vs Arsenal imo. Dont rate it from the viewpoint of what it reveals about him as a competitor. Wish him all the best though

I mean he’s choosing to compete with the current best LW in the world, arguably the best up and coming winger in the world and the current Balon D’or winner for game time.

Sounds pretty competitive to me!

Realistically it may be the fact that he’s going to get 300kpw there. Nobody else is matching that.

He's a French speaking kid going to a club where he's expected to win every single competition he's in.

I promise you no top player thinks they're more competitive because they're beating up on Burnley instead of Angers.

Understandable if he’s a fan of PSG or just wants to live in France cos it’s more convenient, or if he just wants the bag. Fair enough.

But let’s not pretend it’s the same level of competition. One is a league where one team is almost guaranteed to win, the other is a league which is actually very difficult to win.

No top player seems to care about this assessment though. The PL may be more difficult to win although I'd say if PSG were based in England that wouldn't be the case either.

People seem to think competitiveness is playing against the best but they also want to play with the best. Would you say he's very competitive if he went for big wages to some nouveau riche club like Forest over PSG?

Also, in his Players Tribune that was basically dedicated to his sister who has died, he talks about how he and his sister dreamed and spoke about living in France.

Yea that was a touching tribute.

He also said it's not about money though.

Not saying it’s like giving up, there is competition internally for places in that side, there is competition to win the CL. But it is easier for PSG to win their league than for any prem club to win theirs. No other Ligue 1 club comes close to PSG quality. This is obvious to everyone.

Really hoped Arsenal could sign him, but after reading his tribute, you know he is PSG bound. He is playing to honor his sister and their dream to live in Paris together.

Great attitude and knows the grind in order to be succesful instead of spoiled players who got pampered throughout their youth teams.

Sleeping at the training centre and the only thing he did was playing football in order to send all his earned money to his family hits hard.

We all know this is not the way we would spin it if we were analyzing it in the situation of Rice going to City vs Arsenal.

I’m not even talking about the Prem specifically. I rate great players who feel like they are the missing piece that can bring a side to ultimate glory. That’s huge to me imo. That mentality is missing from any player that currently chooses a team like PSG. Hell, you can currently go to Madrid and have more of that desire than choosing to go to PSG.

Fair enough if it’s bigger than competition as people that reference the players tribune are suggesting though. Can’t say nothing about that.

It just has to be Barcola for me. Or break the bank for Vini Jnr. We need to start watching players who excite as well as deliver on the pitch; flair plus the goals and assists. What's not to like, eh?

Obviously was impressed with Diomande performances for a 19 year old but I must say at no point did I think I was looking at a 100m player. Just looks like a very talented but raw kid, which is what he is.

He should probably just play a bit more at Leipzig tbh. Same with Bouaddi, he should stay at Lille.

Arsenal are the most beautiful club in England. At Man City and Chelsea, they will never have that class and style.
