I have a slightly controversial take. Do you think Neymar has a bigger impact on today's generation of footballers than Messi and Ronaldo? I don't see many footballers idolise Messi as they did Ronaldo because the Argentine never carried himself with the personality of a superstar. Players around Messi's age or the retired legends speak highly of him, almost with a deep admiration for his quality and humility. Whereas Ronaldo's admiration comes from goal-hungry youngsters. There there is the Brazilian. I get that Neymar is younger than the big two so he appeals to the Gen-Zs and Alphas, but he's not so far removed from them. I'm asking this because Doue and Neymar are the two brightest talents out there, and they are so Neymar-coded. I see it with Nico Williams and Nwaneri, too.

What do you guys think? Does Neymar have the biggest legacy in football?
I don't think this take is that outlandish, Yamal and Doué are both blatantly modelling their game after him and so are plenty other kids. Hugo Ekitike is a 6'3 centre forward and he played with Mbappe Neymar and Messi and he says his idol is Neymar 100%.

Messi is the most talented player ever but he was almost robotic with it, still a certain beauty to his game but lacking in flair in comparison. Neymar is what every street baller will look up to since he's the closest thing to Ronaldinho we've seen. Injuries ruined his career but even with all the time he's missed he's extremely underrated, seen loads of people compare guys like Hazard or Salah to him which is just disrespectful. At his peak no one but Messi could match him.

This.

And as much as it was unconventional, PSG indicated this right from the kickoff, when they kicked the ball outside for a throw-in deep into their territory by Inter.

I mentioned it on how odd it was for them to give up ball in 1st second of play, but it was very clear immediately as they positioned themselves to press Inyer right from that throw-in.

Dembele was like a man possessed with his pressing while he was also getting his teammates in place. That was almost maniacal. Sommers will have nightmares with Dembele in them. Kudos to Luis Enrique for his game plan and convincing his players that was the way to go. As TuttoSport wrote Inter literally "DisIntergrated".

I have no doubts we could beat Inter in the final too. But as with most of Arteta's big game wins, we will probably score 1 goal from set piece and then go into our shell to defend. Then people will say what a close final between 2 evenly matched teams.

PSG was relaxed and had so many ballers that went for the jugular hence a score like this. Very rare. But it also created a perception that Inter is a piss poor team which is not true.

Agreed. Inter are a very good team with a balanced midfield and yet PSG absolutely destroyed them. Enrique sets his teams out to win it while Teta's teams are set out to not lose; clear difference of philosophy.

It would have been a much different game if we were facing Inter.

It's not unconventional for PSG they do that in every game, they even did it against us in the semi final.

For more context.

Well if they are Neymar coded then the good part is they won't last long as partying and other stuff will take preference over football , good part I mean if we'd face them again later in ucl

I think we did alright against PSG considering we didn’t even have Merino up front for the first leg thanks to Partey being suspended. Just having Merino as our main striker shows how handicapped we were for the tie. I think with a better striker we could have got past them.

A Spanish manager who wants his forwards to defend and highlights defending twice when talking about his main striker after a treble win. AND his name is not Arteta. Hopefully, the whiny bed wetters can STFU about our defensive demands.

Another manager who we don't want here. Along with this lad, does he even have his coaching badges?

With all due respects, I would never use Arteta's name in the same sentence or the same comment with Luis Enrique! ;):)

Mbappe tracking back? Brother doesn't even track forward.

I think the early struggles at Madrid have humbled him though compared to those days. And just generally being at Real surely has humbled him, he’s barely a footnote to them at this point.

You never know man…

I mean PSG are more than cabaple of a possesion attack, giving the ball away from the kick off is some weird ****
They dont want to pass the ball back and give Inter the chance to press and chase them. Setting the tone right from the first second is very important.

that's how we always suffer because when we are in the lead, the 2nd half we always come out passive and focus to not lose. Then we gets pinned back and the rest is history

Have there been complains about us pressing? That’s been one of the basics of football since forever.
