Raheem Sterling: Shaken, Not Sterred

This is sad and I can understand why Arteta might have been pissed if this is the best we could do after a whole summer.

Thing is his legs are gone but the real issue is the complete lack of belief, probably due to his game being so depending on his pace, he has no idea what to do without it.

We need him now because we've got very few other options.

I'm hoping that with more matches he might improve but I won't be surprised if he doesn't. Couldn't beat his man and his unique trait is perma-offside.

He's being VASTLY outperformed by a 17 year old and Mikel Merino CF edition, he must hate football now 😅

This loan move isn't doing anyone involved any favour. We got a player we have no use for, and Sterling hasn't exactly put himself in the shopping window, so it will be even harder for Chelsea to sell him in the summer.
I don't think even Saudi clubs will be interested in him at this point.

If he wasn't so awful we would have a use for him. We need forwards. He is just abysmal.

Posted in the ref thread, but unless I’m crazy and forgot to take my red colored glasses off this looked a pen to me which VAR missed. I yelled in real time, thinking he (Sterling) just lost the ball (again), but when they showed the close up replays it looked a pen and would have made his performance look a little difference if it lead to our breakthrough/win.

Again I could be wrong and the rest of the performance was poor, but this would have made it look a bit better.

I've seen wingers in my Saturday pub team do better things than this guy. He's completely shot and washed at the age of 30 yet earning 350k a week. What a life he's having.

Once a great player but has played for too long already. His body can't cope anymore.

I started feeling sorry for him as he was getting subbed then i was like no! This guys is still walking away with a couple of hundred grand this week. He wasn't given pity minutes today or to run down the clock. He started because we actually needed him to step up. He shoulda been raring to go. I think maybe he thought he would easily be a starter for us on the left or at least get descent game time and the fact that he has been so low in the pecking order with everyone fit has really affected his confidence. I would still start him at our next game and see how he goes with the support of the home crowd simply because we're down to the bare bones.

Its crazy to see at 30 he seems finished which is a shame because he has been a very good player.

This going with same category as Willian I feel both players took advantage of big contracts and just stop caring. Even tho Willian after leaving us he did manage play well at Fulham. Unsure Sterling will be the same

Not long ago he showed signs of maybe being able to do something

Disappointing showing yesterday. Don't think he's as bad as he showed and ultimately he's all we've got for now

Needs support
He clearly very low on confidence I liked his performance against Girona where he started the issue is he lost some speed his overall game depending on it.

Arsenal Quotes

A player's true character is in how he plays and not in his social life. You can hide your real personality in your social life, You cannot on the field.
