Random Football Stuff

Gunner come out of the closet any day now…

I'd strongly recommend anyone who's even slightly interested in how a professional football club operates watch this, provides much better insight than the All or Nothing docs ever did.

It also shows just how much managers and coaches care about the off ball stuff, something that is always deeply underappreciated by fans in general. Also shows the relationship between coaches and the manager, how impactful they are which again is something people don't really think about.

This right here is exactly why I find the "He just wants to provide for his family" horsesh*t. Is the money worth it if you put your family through this?

People do that commute for 50k a year in a Fiat Punto rather than a private jet so yeah, he's still only at work for 6 hours when you factor in the travel lol

It's an 800km round trip.

Duran's being a diva. Everyone knows Ronaldo & his missus aren't really married nor does anyone care.

I'm just shocked Al-Nassr actually acquisced to his demand!!

How’s that different to people from Mexico going to work in Texas everyday and going back home each night?

Are there Mexicans making 800km daily roundtrips to their place of work?

Bit different picking between jobs that puts you either in the 1% wealthiest or the 0.1% wealthiest bracket and picking between having no job at all/poorly paying job and one that you can live on.

It’s generational wealth for his family in Colombia and his descendants. Athletes have a much shorter window of earning power than everyone else as demonstrated here:

He was already earning generational wealth for his family in Colombia at Aston Villa and that would have gotten a significant bump with any top European club who were no doubt interested or a new contract at Villa for that matter. When are we going to stop pretending that £80k a week is a slave wage?

Given the money that sports stars at the highest level earn in the big sports. If they still face financial hardship that's just reckless spending. Sucks, but if you have a tendency to spend recklessly you'll probably squander most of it no matter how much money you earn. Just look at Notch, trying to start grifting again despite getting an eye watering $2.5 billion for selling Minecraft to Microsoft.

Nobody said £80k is a slave wage, but you can’t be so judgmental when you don’t know his situation.

More power to Duran! ✊

Even moreso if through his earning he decides to help his community. Nothing but respect :applause:

It's so clear about the reasons why he made that move, and he did what's best for him.

Arsenal Quotes

The club changed so much, I changed with it and football has changed with us... But one thing never changes: the 90 minutes still belong to the player, 90 minutes during which he is king.
