Crazy money to give out by a public broadcaster.

Ordinary people's tax that goes to someone who already has more money than he can ever spend. But what's new I guess.
Yup. Nobody wants to talk about that redistribution of wealth though. Funny how it's only when some flows back to regular people that it becomes a problem.

The golden rule of football is that you NEVER sign an English goalkeeper.

They are always sh*te with almost zero exceptions. I mean it cost us a title ffs.

Last top English GK was David Seaman since then it’s been James, Kirkland, Robinson, Joe Hart, Rob Green, Forster, T-Rex, Butland, Pope and Haramsdale.

That list reeks.

Going back 3 decades for an almost passable example is absolutely stinking. How many top keepers have Germany or Spain had since then?

Also I’m sorry but if we take off the rose tinted glasses was David Seaman ever top top?

Can’t be having my goalkeeper get mugged off by Ronaldinho like that I’m sorry.

I wouldn’t say top top but in terms of what followed him and Lehmann at club level + additionally in the national team then he’s definitely a safe pair of hands compared to those calamities.

Pretty sure if we had Raya and a half decent CB instead of Holding during the 22/23 season then we probably would have lifted the title. Both were playing against us.

If we’d have kept Leno and had Kiwior then I reckon we get over the line ffs.

Disgraceful those two saw out our title challenge.

Think Kirkland had the potential but his back was ****ed at an early age. Shocking list though right enough.

When I was a kid they used to have Canizares on the bench for Iker ffs.

De Gea never got a look in really at international level either.

Meanwhile with England you’d get Scott Carson and Ben Foster playing huge matches… yuck.

It’s strange because the core fundamentals of goalkeeping haven’t really changed much relative to outfield positions.

Sure, you’ve got to be able to play with your feet at the top level now, but that’s not what holds English keepers back. They’re rubbish at even the traditional stuff.

This might sound controversial. Me personally, I am not a Big Fan of retired football shirt numbers.
I can appreciate the reasoning behind it, eg :- player exceeds in that shirt number. I am of the thought of let another player have the shirt number, use it as a basis of pride, recall who previously wore it. If the player did well, build a statue of them, name a stand, etc.
After all, there is the saying, 'no player is bigger than the club'. It's like if you move house, the previous house doesn't get knocked down. Someone else moves in, and creates their own memories. (Bad Example).

Arsenal Quotes

My first ever football memory was Charlie George's double winning goal in 71. After that game; I just became an Arsenal fan.
