UEFA expected to vote to suspend Israel from European competitions
The UEFA Executive Committee will vote on Tuesday, September 23, to suspend Israel's national teams and clubs from all European competitions, sources close to the process report to the "Israel Hayom" media outlet. The greatest pressure for this decision, according to reports, is coming from...telegrafi.com
For once UEFA can make a good decision although it's very, very late. Let's hope this happens. But i have a feeling that it won't. Israel, despite being a small colony in the Middle East, has its filthy tentacles everywhere. It is rumored that Germany will try to help the genocidal entity avoid suspension.
I have no idea if this is the right thread for this but whatever.
Bit of a farce.![]()
Ipswich Town set for crucial Blackburn Rovers abandonment hearing - Norwich City are involved
Ipswich Town are hoping to get a full replay of their clash against Blackburn Roversfootballleagueworld.co.uk
This is some bullsh1t. Blackburn was leading 1-0 80 minutes gone and Ipswich was down to 10 men before the game was abandoned due to weather. They been ordered to replay the full match
If the game is replayed. And officially doesn’t count. Surely the guy that got red won’t be suspended next game and none of the yellows count eitherBit of a farce.
But it would've been hilarious for Ipswich to go back to Blackburn and both teams preparing again for 10 minutes of football.
I saw some footage and the pitch really was unplayable at the end.
Yeah, it's a bit of a mess. The match would pretty much be nullified even though they played 80 minutes. But you can't just award Blackburn the win after 80 minutes and playing the final 10 minutes on a different day under completely different cirumstances would also be questionable. If the game is replayed. They should have made Ipswich stay the day and finish this match in closed stadium next day with same players playing.Yeah, it's a bit of a mess. Would've been the easiest solution, but they probably had to wait for an official ruling by the EFL first. They should have made Ipswich stay the day and finish this match in closed stadium next day with same players playing.
So i was right. Compare this to what happened to Russia.
That they're in UEFA in the first place when they're supposed to be "indigenous to the Middle East" is a farce in and of itself but UEFA like most of the ruling class are spineless so of course they fold at a bit of bullying from the US.
It's a joke to engage in this kind of double standard. Russian players and clubs were being treated like Nazis when they have absolutely nothing to do with the war but they'll let people who have actually done compulsory service in an entity doing war crimes around the clock continue to participate in sport.

I think there's precedent in English football too, but they replayed the entire match. Saw some examples the other day, but can't find them right now.Iirc, many years ago, there was a match between Real Madrid and another La Liga team that got stopped at around 85th minute, due to a suspected bomb in the stadium. The score was 1-1.
After few weeks the match resumed, but they only played the remaining minutes 7-8 minutes, with the same players that were on pitch. Zidane scored in those minutes for Real to win it 2-1.
These are not exactly the same situations, but there is a precedent for this elsewhere and imo, the most reasonable decision would be to play the remaining minutes with same players. You cannot just void 80 minutes of play, a goal a red card and so on, just because nature had other ideas and you're askign for a re-run...

The Real Madrid match played over separate years after bomb scare - Football España
One of the most chaotic and troubling scenes in La Liga history resulted in the one single game being played across two separate years, and with one of the teams involved starting and finishing the match with different managers in charge. In December 2004, Real Sociedad – from the Basque city of...www.football-espana.net
