For the start of the new season, Arsenal Mania has relaunched the news side of the site. All articles are written by genuine Arsenal fans with no hidden agenda. You can visit the site via the menu at the top of the forum pages or go direct to our homepage

Additionally, Arsenal Mania is now sending all its registered members a bi-weekly Briefing Bulletin containing a digest of news and views from both parts of the site. Some of you may have already received the first edition and those that haven't should do so before the big kick off against United. If you are a guest visitor to this forum then if you join as a member, you will automatically receive the Bulletin.

@Sapient Hawk why is the FIFA Arab cup so well attended? Attendance figures are crazy and most matches are sold out.

Even AFCON, Asian Cup, Gold cup, Copa America has sparse crowd.

Arab supporters are very active in their support of their nations, unless there's a singular Arab nation to rally behind at the World Cup (like Morroco benefited in 2022).

Also, you have to remember that Qatar being the host plays a big role as a lot of Arabs from the almost 22 nations within the Arab League, have sizeable contingents there & football is THE sport in all of them.

You been catching the tournament? Great match last night against Palestine.

Just curious why is this lesser tournament full house but the same more prestigious Asian cup in Qatar was mostly empty even for Arab nations

Some of these nations place greater prestige on the Arab Cup because it's contested between fellow Arab countries. Sure, some of the Arab nations are in Western Asia but the association is only geographic, not cultural. This one has more bragging rights as a lot have families who have married from other Arab countries.

Caught a few matches and the arab world really have some good ballers. Lack of scouting in this region and many clubs are sleeping on them. There should be more people like Musa Tamari strutting their stuffs in europe.

@Yousif Arsenal 's Ali Jassim looks a serious talent. But have a feeling @jones Morocco's B will win this whole thing.

They good but Ali Jasim example of they fail because they don't develop well the European clubs quickly gave up on them. Morroco players are in different planet they pros since young age you know they playing with thier 3rd team and they're fav to win just too good

The English codified the rules of football just as the French perfected wine. We don't often ask an English person to come over to make Bordeaux.
