Have been watching clips of 70s matches on YouTube for the last several days. Bloody hell what a difference to today! The supporters look like they are ready for proper cage fights. It is full riot mode after each goal. The pitches are an absolute mess. The quality of the football just awful. Many of the goals are pure comedy. Still, looks like everyone is fully invested. Than same can be said about Benzema in Real ? He had good players around him.

Giroud has been excellent for France just like Benzema has been excellent for Real. These are big crucial players in two of the best and most successful teams of the last 30 years.

Benzema has started for Real for 10 years, Giroud is competing with the strongest French generation since the early 2000’s.

How can Giroud criticise Benzema anyway? Benzema is one of the greatest strikers in the game, had spent all his career at Real contributing 300 goals and assists in 400 games.

Benzema is absolutely untouchable. Would still be playing for France if his name was Kevin and not Karim.

Sometimes in the game you have players you simply don’t question, King Karim is one of them.

I wanted him so bad to manage Arsenal. Would've transformed the club for good. I can't understand how criminally underappreciated he is.

Not sure if it was him or the people he trusted but the recruitment was at its worst when he was at United.

Yeah, he has never been one known to be good with transfers as he has mostly worked under clubs whose transfers and squad building were done by the front office. He worked best under those circumstances. But what he does is revive the youth system of clubs and as a trainer was second to none in terms bringing up young players as well as trains his players and assistants in a way that they can have a coaching future.

I firmly believe had you given him a season or two more while sorting out your recruitment from above instead of going for Mourinho, he'd have left a foundation in place and might have given you a well developed core group of homegrown players you could rely on.

That said, you seem to be doing pretty great on that front and the recent recruitment policy indicates some order and foresight in terms of squad building as well as better use of resources.

I'm 99% certain you're getting Sancho, a really good CB, someone like Rakitic and a striker. The Rakitic move may or may not depend on Pogba moving and you may even get Rakitic along with another midfielder. Could be that Bellingham kid.
