The 12/13 season is still one of the annoying season.

We gifted the title to the Worst fergie's team in over 20 years. That UTD squad was full of bums. If had RVP or even Auba we'd have probably won it or at the least run them close.

The league was ours in the 2015/2016 season, but we failed to sign a single outfield player and allowed Leicester to runaway with it.

10/11 season too, with Cesc playing 25 games, RVP 25 games, Rosicky 21 games, Theo 28 games, Vermaelen 5 games.. All key players during that time.. We missed out on a lot of potential title challenges because our best players weren't available for 10+ pl games..

Durability is often overlooked, it's why I'm sceptical of most injury prone players we are linked with nowadays. Unless they are an exceptional talent it's not worth the gamble.

Exactly, if we had a fit striker in 2008 we'd have won the league. We simply imploded after Eduardo's injury.

Imagine if RVP was fit for that season?

yeah no doubt.. We were robbed in CL that season too.. That team was special tbh, was playing at such a high level until the Eduardo incident, was genuinely one of the best teams in Europe that year.

The 2010-2011 team was a joy to watch, but absolutely no way were we winning the league over that United team with a centreback pairing of Kos-Djourou...maybe if we had that collection of players in 2016 against Leicester, but not in 2011 against Ferguson.

Mental health awareness week, you have so many footballers opening up about their problems during and after their playing days. Depression and suicidal thoughts are rife.

Merson talking about wanting to drive in front of a lorry on the way to training, and then acting like a joker once at training, Lee Hendrie talking about trying to kill himself twice and going on life support machine etc. Craig Bellamy saying he’s on strong anti depressants.

A lot of players seem to struggle to operate if they are injured, their form drops or they make a mistake. I’m just thinking now in this era of social media, they have another issue with having your game ripped apart on Twitter and forums.

It’s good football is having these discussions, as a fan you can get a different insight. Shocked at the amount of players who say winning a game is more a relief than an enjoyment, and a mistake does literally leave you with struggling to sleep for a week.
