The window was good.

When you win the PL title and lose the CL final in a shootout, and we aren't an old squad, there aren't much more pieces to add really.

You don't have to break the bank to get good players. We could have used some Mosquera/Hincapie level/price tag attack signings though. Tzolis might be it. We'll see. Could have added another really.

Result wise, previous season was excellent. Game wise, we won a lot of matches with our butt cheeks tightly clapped together. And the 25% possessions against PSG was quite bad although they didn't got any respectable chances. With the addition of Bruno, we would likely dominate most of the matches now. And with Konsa, our season is still alive. We will have to see if they dry powder is needed during winter window for a LW if Eze and Tzolis disappoints.

Failures aside I have respect for refusing to just add a body. It prevents the rise of academy stars. If you think even last season had Nørgaard had been an option Skelly would likely be out the door.

Hoping that no standout left wing means Noni gets minutes there allowing for Dowman to step in on the right.

Agree fully with this.

I like that we have shuffled the pack, let eze and madueke know they are backed to play left wing this season, that Eze can expect most his minutes there this season.

If they do not adapt to that role we look again in a future window when hopefully more opportunities available.

Martinelli had to go, however the signing of Guimaraes will be more key than an actual left winger to unlocking that side of the pitch.

Not a perfect window but I think we have been much more measured than other clubs in our spending.

Andria Bartishvili — potential. 👀
Could be the next superstar... or we'll be loaning him out to 14 different clubs by 2032. You never know. 😂

Really like this one considering we didn’t manage to get Monga. Not much risk in it.

If develops well and turns out to be as good as the hype around his name then we could have a serious player with Dowman coming through too. Still a long way to go though:

In my positive book, not signing a super LW is only 1.5 stars less than perfect.

It is what it is. 😇

Edit: I feel we had best window for non oil club considering our squad.

It's not so much the content as it is the form.

It's the sort of format Eduardo Hagn posts in, which is why I asked....

Never seen his content, I just know he is on twitter. But I will tell you frankly, I used online formatting on Chatgpt and as you could see similarity between the formatting then he must use the same formatting tool.

Anyone posted/read this?

Yeah Villa initially valued Rogers at 100m we wanted to do deal at 80m.
City ruined market with Anderson and Villa increased evaluation to 120m .

In all if you read it shows market was very bad for ceiling raisers.

Based on Mokbel, looks like Berta killed the Fofana deal, club and berta set on driving price down for rogers, methods using intermediaries impacted Monga and Page dealings, and tzolis was initially suggested by senior coach contact and then observed by Berta’s number 2. Barcola was on our transfer short list but not clear what happened there from the article.

Very sketchy reading for big bert.

Id be happy to shoot him and move on. Our director of football should be a romantic in my opinion, to counterbalance arteta. If it were possible to get someone with wenger’s temperament and appreciation of players to counterbalance arteta, that would be perfect imo.

I mean before Barcelona came with offer. Should have signed him right after the season ended.
That would have been far too late to be in with a shout, it would have had to have been an earlier window if any chance at all.

He says he has been learning Spanish for ages with a view to going there, barca would have sounded him out months ago.

Agreed. I think he's junk.

No ones fault but ours for dithering, and Chelsea didnt care the market got screwed up, they had the money like us and improving their squad and getting the deal done for the best available player this summer.

Shocking from Berta, hes been an awful DOF and needs to be sacked before he gets another summer.

Many won’t like it but Arteta with Wenger DoF would be a ridiculously powerful combo to have. I’ve been trying to say that Edu had the right temperament but he fundamentally isn’t that talented. Need someone of that ilk but just better

I gave the window 5/10. The failure to improve the attack was the only reason. The players signed are good but we're relying on midfield to increase the number of chances without offering them a CF who can convert consistently. Shades of Özil/Giroud and possibly worse.
Our inability to sell well continues to be an issue. Doubling wages for new signings is an issue long term. Thinking of selling Hale End to spend money on a worse player is a worry too. Over the last 5 years or so, Chelsea have apparently sold 400m worth of players!
We have a lot to do and need to rethink our policies in certain areas.

You'd need Wenger to spot the talent and sell the player and vision to Arteta. However, the financials should be kept away from both of them.

Arsenal Quotes

I want a fan to wake up in the morning and say, “Arsenal are playing today, I’m going to have a good time.” That guy starts his day off by thinking that something good is going to happen to him. And to do that, big clubs like Arsenal have to have the ambition to play spectacularly. Of shared happiness.
