I can't wait until we face Adonis face Chinni and bring hell on earth to their stadium and Mourinho.

Our full redemption arc would be winning the champions league against Mourinho. Are the gods so kind?

It's a shame really, summer was our only actual chance. I don't think we'd be seeing those sort of performances in an Arsenal shirt but you never know.

I'd say we'd revisit in January but the club will be completely put off you'd imagine. Looks really pathetic.

The defence and Rice won us the league.

It’s a bit of a stereotype but we’ve seen this before with Brazilian footballers who fancy themselves as a bit of a celebrity in their comfort zone.

I’d probably steer clear of him now.

Seems to me that Vinicius mad a big mistake renewing with Real. He did good thing for his bank account, but not good thing for his career as an athlete.
He could have been king of London, the biggest superstar of EPL (together with Haaland).
This was his choice.
If he continues to play so poorly, we definitely wouldn't want him anymore.

Vini's ship has sailed.
Maybe we have dodged the bullet?
He earns now 31.25m euros per season (601k euros per week) without bonuses.

Or change of environment and transfer to Arsenal would help him?
We will never know.

Diomande looks rubbish as well.

At the start of the summer if I was at Real and could have signed any player, it would have been Rodri.

To pass up on him and destabilise their attack even more was such a daft move.

Yeah I watched his comp from yesterday which Madrid fans were pleased with I didn't see anything out the ordinary. My small worries on some parts of his game may come to fruition. He's still very young though with time to develop.

Anyway, Real Madrid has increased Vini's salary 25% (from 25m euros per season to 31.25m euros per season, without bomuses) according to Capology.
Flirting with Arsenal definitely helped him while negotiating with Real about new contract.

A new environment would have helped him. He needed a change for a lot of reasons. Some I talked about in the original transfer thread.

I don't think he's "fallen off", but I do think that staying in a less than ideal situation has meant that all the things that were issues and have been issues for him have just continued.

A new contract doesn't make the positional fit between him and Mbappe better.

A new contract doesn't make Spain more tolerant to him.

A new contract doesn't make LaLiga refs ease up on letting defenders kick and manhandle him above and beyond the laws of the game and then blame him for his own treatment.

A new contract doesn't make Madrid fans think he's not the root of their on pitch issues.

A new contract doesn't mean that playing for Mourinho becomes a harmonious relationship between the two of them.

Bad decision all around. But I am of the view that bad decisions don't just happen to people, they play a part in it sometimes. This is a clear example. Everything above he knows. His team knows. But they made their choice.

Good luck to him.

One thing that wasn't discussed at the time was that he's got a lot of mileage in those legs. He's been playing top flight football since 17. People think Saka is cooked for playing too much football but this guy has played over 100 more games - which is an issue as he's heavily reliant on athleticism.

Can't wait to revisit this in a year or two and cook this forum.

Arsenal Quotes

You kind of never leave Arsenal. How many comebacks do you make? At one point it will turn out to be a bad move. We all love the first Rocky but I'm not too sure about the last one.
