Ricardo Calafiori (Out)

He will run less if he will play LCB instead of LB.

I think we should buy a proper attacking left back and give this team more dimension. We need to move away from 4 CBs starting. Sell both him and white and get actual fullbacks so we have variety

Agree but then we will need another LCB. Arteta will not have Hincapie as a back-up for 2 positions, he will want 2 players for each position. Keep Calafiori as LCB, sell White, buy 2 actual fullbacks.

We have too many defenders. The whole point of having versatile players is so you can have less players. Both Timber and Hincapie are CBs who will play in that position this World Cup. Then you have Saliba, Gabriel and Mosquera add youngsters in the reserve. You got enough CBs

I wouldn't sell him for less than £70m and id begrudge that.

Injuries are whatever but when he's fit I can't name another LB with his qualities, he's a one off.
Correct. We should only sell Cala for the same fee City bought Gvardiol. £80+ million for an injury-prone left matter, no matter how talented he is is life changing. That buys Rogers alone.

Heavy Duty Rom

I told you so
The idea of Calafiori outweighs the reality of him. Obviously, he’s supremely talented, but he doesn’t do enough in the final third to warrant the freedom he gets. His superpower is his build-up ability. I’ve seen this happen before when injury prone players are rated above their impact on the team. The bigger mistake would be turning down a huge fee for him.

Eze has been more impactful from the left. He struggles to stay engaged while playing centrally. Besides Trossard and Nelli will go. Rogers made his name playing CAM, while Eze made his name playing LW.

Fair point with the first paragraph tbh.

Second point I don't agree with. Doesn't it make it worse that Eze can't get LW minutes if Trossard/Martinelli are going anyway? I see Eze a a squad player next season, nothing more.

Eze is a squad player next season, but not your mate Martin Oh Dear God?

I rate Martin higher, just my opinion. It doesn't mean I don't think he can't be improved on, but with signing Eze last summer, that's not going to happen. I'm fine going into next season with them two as the attacking CM options. Same with Kai, the Gyok signing blocks another potentially better and starting CF this summer. Priorities this summer need to be a LW and a LCM.

He actually had 26 appearances in the PL which is 68% of total games available in the league. T
That’s so low, especially as it’s even lower if you consider starts or full 90s

We aren’t going to sell him but it’s been an interesting discussion. The guy just needs to stay fit.

Been saying we should sell for a while. Hopefully this is all true. Talent isn't up for question but he couldn't even get himself fit for a CL final. Gets injured in between games all the time

He's missed about 100 days and 17 matches a season on average for every season he's been a pro

One of our best and most impactful players when fit.

Unless there’s a giant fee involved, I don’t know why we would even consider selling. Particularly when we have Hincapie to rotate him with, who while offering a different profile, doesn’t cause our level to drop much at all.

Would be sad seeing this guy leave really very good footballer However the price must be right. Also an extra issue for us because even if we buy fullback we still need either CB or another fullback because MLS is a midfielder.

Is it really low when you see Mendes play like 10 games in Ligue 1? I think Arteta pilled somewhat into thinking our starters have to play 3500 mins +

PSG situation is far from normal tbh.
They don’t have to play loads but Cala isn’t rotated, he’s always injured.

He gets injured for no reason a shocking amount of the time. Guy was fit then next thing is missing the CL final. When does it end with him?

Mourinho was manager when they sold him to Basel because they didn't give him chance.

Still its real Madrid after all Still need some serious links to believe this transfer
