I think he’ll divide opinion in the fanbase for some time.

He was closest marking their goal scorer at the corner, not sure why he didn’t try to block with his leg rather than his head.
He’s a CB playing out of position. He will always be judged wrongly

He had the odd bozo moment today but I thought he was also very good and helped us looked a lot more fluid and dangerous. I think he's somewhat vulnerable defensively just because he's not as agile as you'd like for a full-back but he's a net positive for our overall game.

The italian zinchenko before the storm....

We always look better when he plays vs not. He'll iron out the kinks imo.
He doesn’t have great pace and is expected to invert and get involved in play and defend the left side. He will always have difficulty against pace and be weakness for us out there

Honestly I wouldn’t be surprised if it ends up that way, not my opinion, but we literally outgrew Zinny and Jesus in 18 months.

People rate him super highly though so I’m hoping he turns out great.

He doesn't have the pashun merchantry, at least. So the starting point for him is vastly improved.

He's some things to sort out, but he's very good...feel playing with Timber kinda makes every other fullback we have look kinda meh.

Kinda like what Patrick Vieira used to do to all our other midfielders lol.
I feel like they add different stuff. Timber is a very stable player. When he’s defending and when in possession. Calafiori has the ability to add cutting edge and gravitas to our team at times, but at the cost of defensive reliability (at the moment).

I could see how it could potentially go this way in a worst case scenario.

But you hope that he matures decision making wise (he can defend he just also makes rash decisions), so he becomes more rounded. He’s raw right now.

He is a better defender to be fair, just needs to sharpen his timing. Easy to forget he's pretty young aswell. I can see him being very divisive though, he'll probably get on my nerves a few times - but he offers less weaknesses than the aforementioned Zinchenko IMO.

He also is very good looking, unlike Zinchenko.

Hyperbole? Of course. But I can't stress enough how Zinchenkos face makes me unreasonably mad when he pulls his stunts.

Cala also seems much more aware when he ****s up and doesn't do the whole "guys, you let another goal in that totally wasn't my fault!" the Ukrainian does sometimes.

Actually plays with the team in a way that he's aware some of the slack Gabriel and others will gave to pick up in exchange for him pushing up.

Maturity like that will probably make be difference in him being less of a debate point between fans.
