Btw Kiwior has been excellent and I would not replace him so easily , but Calafiori was one of the best in the LCB position last season with Bologna. I am really curious what kind of partnership him and Saliba would be. His passing is even better than Kiwior and is a super strong ball carrier. If he is ready for Palace ,I would test it.

It’s so annoying that he’s injured while Gabi is out. We need to see him at LCB.

Agree he has the potential, but you can’t drop Kiwior for him at this stage. Calafiori hasn’t played LCB for Arsenal, and he has struggled defensively at LB. Different position for sure but it doesn’t exactly fill you with confidence that he will comfortable for 180+ minutes against arguably the best attacking side in Europe right now. Kiwior x Saliba is tried and tested.

By the way remember this season whenever Gabi was injured Calafiori was also injured, otherwise I am sure Arteta would have loved to test him. I am convinced Calafiori also has the x-factor. If needed he will push the team even from the CB position.

Yeah man, same here. Although sadly the way things are going the only X factor he’s racking up are X Rays 😔

Will there be any chance he will be fit for PSG? might suit us very well playing with Saliba.

Arteta said in his pre Ipswich presser that if everything goes right he thinks Calafiori will be available for the PSG game.

He even added "maybe a little bit earlier". Which I took to mean he has a chance to play some part against Palace.

Would like to see Cala and Saliba.

Again Kiwior is undroppable right now, if Calafiori is fit it opens up the opportunity to play him as left back and MLS as midfielder. Would probably take that option.
Yeah you don't drop Kiwi in this moment in time when he is playing so well. It might not last but you can't drop him for a player who hasn't played a single game at CB for us yet. You need to build up partnerships as well.

I wouldn't play Cala at LB too, he really, really struggles against pace. PSG have abundance of that on the wings, they would rip him to shreds. MLS will most likely play at LB but if we decide to play him in midfield I would play Tierney at LB before Cala.

Don't get me wrong I like Cala and think there is a lot of potential there. So far he is shown he is a lot better going forward than defending. Eventually he will probably cover/move to CB I think but this isn't the game to try that out.

Kiwior has earned his spot for now. Can't drop him after how he played against Real. We don't even know how Calafiori would be at us for CB cause he's not played there. You don't throw him in randomly in the CL semi and hope for the best. Especially not considering how dodgy he has looked defensively on the left. Cb is different though less 1v1 scenarios vs wingers but still we shouldn't do it and I can't see Arteta doing it.

And he shouldn't be LB against dembele and Hakimi either he is way too slow.

We should test the Caliba duo at the back. I don't care if Kiwior is playing well, you never know Kiwior can get injured against Palace and then what?

Also people saying look at Cala at LB playing bad or getting roasted by wingers, surely you didn't forget Kiwior LB vs Bayern?

Cala is done with any major involvement or impact for the season. Both MLS and Kiwi have stepped up in his absence and they deserve their spots.

He needs to focus on staying healthy and getting ready for pre season and next season as he still has to prove himself first and foremost as a reliable option here.

Waste of space to date this guy, but you can never bet against Mikel so I expect this guy to be in the WC debate next season.

I'm a big fan of what Calafiori can offer going forwards but there's no way he should be taking the place of either Kiwior or MLS who have both more than earned their places. At present he's a rotation option until he forces his way back into the team.

Yeah I’d go with this, although I’d say he’s definitely someone I’d happily bring on for either if we need a goal.

Yeah playing him there against Palace is not a bad idea at all. I would like to see him there in some lower pressure games (first).

Arsenal Quotes

The club changed so much, I changed with it and football has changed with us... But one thing never changes: the 90 minutes still belong to the player, 90 minutes during which he is king.
