one of the most direct through ball in football history, calafiori just smash ball because he knows that gyokeres in 1 vs 1 situation have space that is why he just smash ball, need did like this a lot

Some of us always rated his scanning and reading of the game - July 2024:

But if you deep him what you’ll rate is his awareness and anticipation. He’s always scanning 360

Nothing else to say in terms of praises. He is very good.

Whoever made in him a fullback in the AS Roma academy needs to be fired. This a 100m striker/Am right here.

Why does he insist on always shooting with his right foot tho? It never works, someone should tell him.

I wonder if we'll continue with him at LB vs Salah knowing that while he might get cooked at times, he's going to seriously hurt Liverpool going the other way.

This guy is the most random amazing supposed CB I’ve ever seen

I’m not even sure if he can defend, he’s like Zinny on steroids  I remember at some point during the match thread @Macho was like “why is Calafiori playing attacking mid”

Pure baller though, honestly let Rice cover while Eze and Ricky do the attacking on the left side. If MLS plays then Rice can push up more.

Yeah, Zinchenko with an instagram filter was what I thought during the match too.

Can see his pretty privilege protecting him, problematic. A hammer to an empty zone that Gyokeres singlehandedly had to turn into a goal was now some exceptional display of football IQ.

Very good and important player when fit.
People here always crying about us signing defensive players really need to understand football is a team game. The way we want to play its important to have really good footballers at the back, not just defenders. Its not a defensive mindset. Our best football under Arteta came in 22/23, and a huge part of that was Zinchencko. With Calafiori we have much of the same, but he brings even more offensively. Can still get better defensively.

This guy could play anywhere on the pitch. He’s great on the ball but also off it, both in terms of work rate and reading of the game.

Maybe he was put at LB to calm his ego 😂
