The only thing holding him back is his fitness issues. As a roaming left back he's just absolute chaos and quality. As a centreback he's classy and solid. Still only 23 years old aswell, so it's not like he's anywhere close to fully developed either.

At times he's like the kid in your school team that gets picked to play LB, gets annoyed by it and then proceeds to plays virtually everywhere else

I still have some doubts about his injury record / defending but you can't help but enjoy him, he's got some real special qualities and he's ridiculously fun to watch. I don't think this guy even knows what percentage football means . Adds a real special dynamic to the side too.

Easily player of the match. Showed that he's not the crap defender he's made out to be here, stellar job on Salah and a few important interceptions.

Obviously very good on the ball and in
the passing game also, that's never not been there.

Late in the second half, Salah was twisting and turning him inside and out in the box, but I never felt safer before. He looked gangly and uncoordinated, but marshalled Salah out of the game because of his anticipation and intelligence. Hincapie will have to do a lot to snatch Calafiori's chain (or wait for the monthly knee injury to rear its ugly head).

Credit where it's due, he did much better in defence than I thought he would.

Player of the game for me. He had Salah on a leash and had some great attacking runs as well.

This version of Calafiori is an absolute difference maker for us.

Had an easy time today, balls were bouncing off Salah for whatever reason which gave Calafiori time to easily recover. On attack he was invisible like our entire left side.
