1st poor performance of the season. He had been our most consistent performer overall so not worried about him. He also still wasn't really troubled defensively and has made clear improvements to that side of his game.

My bigger concern is not with him individually as much as the marriage to the inverted LB in every single fixture. I do agree with those who wish that we had a more traditional overlapping LB for backup/competition to offer a stylistic alternative.

In theory we could get more out of Nelli by playing a LB that provided more width and letting Nelli play on the shoulder of the CB closer to Gyok like we did to close the game out today. That would be intriguing and maybe Hincapie can do a slightly more natural job of that than Cala.

Yeah his license to roam is entirely undeserved at this point. Does more harm than good even against teams that provide no threat like this West Ham.
