Rodrygo is having that Gabriel Jesus moment when he wants to prove his worth against all odds only to fail and be tossed to the side. We might get him in a couple of seasons when he achieves full deadwood status.

For those that aren't able to watch atm, here's the summary of the Rodrygo section:
  • Arsenal appreciate and are informed on the player but not have not approached, and are not currently negotiating with, either Real Madrid or Rodrygo himself
  • The only way Rodrygo would be available is if he tells Madrid he wants to leave, but he's done nothing to suggest that this is the case
  • Rodrygo and Xabi Alonso are both looking forward to working with one another and forming a connection
So for the most part it isn't any new information, but it further confirms what has been clear for a while now: this deal is dead in the water, complete non-starter. There's been absolutely nothing to suggest that Arsenal's appreciation is in any way reciprocal.

The club need to move on to a different target, and I'm surprised to see how few people are mentioning Lookman from Atalanta. He averages a G/A roughly every 113 minutes in Serie A, has a pretty great injury record, great workrate, but most importantly, has shown that he can do it in big games. He's also born and rasied in London and has played for Everton and Fulham so adjusting the league won't be an issue. At 27, he strikes me as someone that's ready to come in and bang.

Only problems would be missing time due to AFCON (though Martinelli can cover for him then) and the fact that he is more of a cut-inside type forward than a touchline winger. But given how broke Serie A clubs are and the fact that he only has 2 years left on his deal, I think the finances would be pretty reasonable. Certainly a better option to me than the likes of Gordon, Mbeumo, Semenyo, etc who I doubt move the needle in terms of major silverware.

Next season will be gruelling with some clubs playing club World Cup, then the league, 2 cups, CL and end with World Cup. These players will have 2 years of barely any break. They will have to rotate
Don't forget there is also the AFCON in the middle of the season. Definitely too much football being played these days.

we'll know more after Real Madrid campaign in CWC. neither Rodrygo or real madrid will be interested to discuss transfers they focusing winning this competition.

the only issue here we have to wait like weeks that what i hate during transfer window competitions that force you to wait. look at the market in general is gone quite the moment CWC started only few rumors here and there.

He is playing in half an hour time. Xabi just said in the pre match interview that he is one of his main key players.

He's starting on the right, which just shows where he'll play under Alonso. Alonso is happy to have him there and I doubt Real Madrid will sell him unless Rodrygo wants out or they need to fund another big signing.

I'm 90% sure that Rodrygo will stay in Madrid atleast for another year or two.

Well he need to have awful competition to help our case lol but Xabi still playing him as RW so maybe he'll won't be happy. But as long he starting with club like Madrid our chances to sign him is almost impossible

The English codified the rules of football just as the French perfected wine. We don't often ask an English person to come over to make Bordeaux.
