Poor defense hasn't been an issue earlier this World Cup though, they covered for it by just blitzing teams. Teams that had been performing better than this Belgium side. Today they looked passive and static, none of that energy and tempo that had been their strength so far this tournament.

I think this Balogun case did affect USA more it add more pressure and expectation and give Belgium extra motivation. USA did play against teams that below them quality wise they shouldn't really did this
