I like Wenger’s suggestion but feel like it would make defender’s jobs a bit too hard and everyone would just shift even more to having sprinters at CB.

I think the current rules reward the coaching and concentration required to hold a defensive line.

Yep if it was a deliberate touch then it would have been a new phase or whatever and the offside would be called from the freeze frame of when Veiga touched it, not when it was crossed.

I can’t actually remember now, but I’m 90% sure it was something like it’s only offside if there’s daylight between the forward and the defender.

Regarding this goal, veiga touch is not deliberate play for me but that headed touch is the one which is debatable. But if tech shows that somehow, can't do anything. Not even slight change of direction or spin though.

I think only the legs should be offside. If your upper body is over the line it should be fine.

A goal being disallowed because you have a big toe or whatever is really not the spirit of what an offside should be imo.

In both goals the attackers had the shoulder ahead and barely at that.

When it's that tight is there really an advantage?
