For me it should be current rule with only checking the legs. The daylight thing is crazy.
Yeah I like the idea of only using the legs but then it’s tricky because you can score with other body parts besides your legs.

You’d basically just be admitting that you’re giving attackers an advantage. Which I guess isn’t a problem because everyone gets the advantage…

A goal being disallowed because you have a big toe or whatever is really not the spirit of what an offside should be imo.
Yeah I hate these ones.

The rule was initially created to stop goalhanging so maybe it does need to be reviewed.

Not really though, because it’s not really about what you score with to gain the advantage vs the defender…

it would be more about the legs since you’re trying to get a step ahead of the defender. But yeah, that’d count the foot, so toes being offside would still be a thing. But Ronaldo’s disallowed goal would stand because he wasn’t actually ahead of the defender, his legs were still behind.

The didn't show the ecg looking thing on your guys' transmission?

Like, I'll admit it's soft but the technology is there for this sort of situation.

Now, if you want to talk about consistency when applying this....
Nah didn’t come across on my stream. Only showed the one angle and the ref being called to watch the same angle. Within 15-20 seconds, decision done so I was quite baffled by it all.

Yeah, I like the semi autonomous thing, but there's a limit where it's not longer in the spirit of what the game is and it's just for excel spreadsheet nerds.

Same thing with the totally legit and not at all advertisement spece hydration breaks.

No one but Americans and the guys getting a cut from the advertisement sales/kickbacks *cough* Infantino *cough* think it's a good idea.

Doesn’t matter if it touched Veiga apparently, the touch from the defender doesn’t reset the phase or whatever.
Yeah but only if it is deemed a non deliberate touch.

My issue is the ref wasnt shown this angle to even decide if it was deliberate or not. They only checked if it grazed the Croatia guy head

It probably brushed the tip of his hair is what they will claim.

But are these sensors so good? If they can be triggered by that, then won't it get triggered by a strong gust or rain drops?

Clearly FIFA are favouring Ronaldo. His ban gets overturned, he's gifted a soft penalty, saved by a dubious offside decision, and then somehow wins Man of the Match after contributing very little.

Hard luck, Croatia. They should have made more of their advantage when Portugal were playing with 10 men, but were punished once the Portuguese were back to 11.

Arsenal Quotes

It was a unique moment, a football fairytale. Was there anyone left who still believed I could give that kind of performance? Probably only Arsène Wenger.
