On a 2 year deal, he would be a great back up to Tierney, still a good player.

We will give him a 4/5 year deal though, ffs

Camp player tells #جرس_أرسنال The club has been monitoring the situation since January until the time the player announced his departure at the end of the season, interest is present and continues by Arsenal. Bertrand prefers to stay in the Premier League, and European participation is just a "bonus" for any potential future destination. "A few weeks" separate us from his decision.

2 year deal and I'm happy with him as deputy to KT.

If he wants a longer term contract move on to other targets.

let's see how much we learnt from the Cedric or Willian deal if we offer him 3 years deal and he is about to be 32 years old then this is dumb even for backup.

Cracking open the warchest to bring in Bertrand. Exciting times.
do you us want spend 50M on alphonso davies to be backup for top 5 LB in PL? of course we'll get someone like Bertrand and spend money on midfield and attack.

Of course not. Just isn’t a transfer to be excited about. These are exactly the sort of signings I expect now. We’ll sign a 29/30 year old attacker and sign a trash backup CB on stupid wages blocking Saliba & Mavro. Anyone expecting some blockbuster signings needs their head checking

it's not signing you look forward to agree but these good signings for your depth we are going from no backup to Bertrand we need to spend big on RB tho that the position we'll need a quality player.

Nothing Wrong With Me
I would rather we bring in a young exciting LB to cover Tierney. Whoever comes in will get games, we know the chance of Tierney staying fit for a season is low. Look at the championship or Scotland, there must be a suitable player who's not nearing retirement.

Agree mate, just not sure we’ll be able to pull off any quality signings. We’re skint, most likely out of Europe, play crap football under a rookie manager, toxic fanbase & a midtable side.

Why would any quality players worth anything want to risk playing here other than the money incentive (of which we have none)?

We say that every year and we end up signing CL quality players like Partey we capable and even Kroenke lie to us we have alot of players we can sell to guarantee funds.

See the logic behind it on a 2 year deal.

However I'm worried that we seem to be bringing 30+ year olds to fill squad roles. What happened to having younger players get their experience and cut their teeth? And by doing so you have a ready made replacement down the line or at least make a few quid of selling them.

Would be a very smart signing. No point spending a chunk of your already limited budget on a backup LB but that sad you need a competent one and Bertrand is fairly decent with lots of experience. Will also mean hopefully he'll manage Tierney a bit better knowing that we have someone to come in for Cup games and games against the lesser teams if he needs a rest.

informations #جرس_أرسنال It is reported that the club's interest in the services of Ryan Bertrand has entered a serious stage in the past 72 hours. There is a second file being worked on in parallel (an alternative option) to fill the needs of the left-back slot, but Bertrand's file is the hottest. The club is intensifying its efforts to settle the first deals of the summer.
