Mental health and motivation? Seriously? You are talking about a guy who says he will play for another club while expecting Arsenal to pay his full wages. What kind of motivation does it give other players? The fact that Özil advised him to do that explains how human nature works. Before long, you will see more players downing their tools. Players play for money. It's as simple as that.
Players play in exchange for being paid. It’s an agreement between the parties. If the club contracts with the player to provide his services for a specific period the club is obligated to pay him. He is not choosing to down tools if the manager no longer wants him in the team.

You people are so short sighted. When a player wants to play and stay at a club but the club doesn’t want him he gets treated like ****. But when a player wants to move you hear crap like the player should show loyalty to the club and put the club first.

hypocrisy and Idiocy at the highest level.

No one is being treated like ****. Our squad is bloated. We have limited number of players we can register. So the best players will obviously get the nod ahead. Players who can't perform well enough to get selected in the registered squad can still sit here and get the money that the club promised to pay. Or they can give up on this money, take a wage cut and move to another club. This is how you instill a competitive culture.

Instead, if we let him have his way, it will only encourage more players to be lazy.

On the loyalty thing, I would like you to show some proof that the same people who want the club to take a hard stance are also the ones who cry about loyalty. Club loyalty has been long dead. You can count the number of players playing for loyalty with the two hands. Football has been in business mode for a long time and it's high time the club acts like one.

That we agree on it is a business.

However I don’t agree that the onus should be on the player to push through a move out of the club. The club is the one that hired too many players. The club was well aware of the registration rules. The club knew it had Kolasinac on its books before acquiring Tavares. So to say that Kola should leave is laughable. It’s the clubs job to find a suitable solution and if he wants to see out his contract, not only is he entitled to do so but it makes the most economic sense for him. Since this is a business there is no need to go beyond that.

The club should have sorted out the Kolasinac situation before bringing in Tavares. Simple as that. Can’t complain about bloated squad when you’ve brought in over 12 players in the last three windows.

The club's goal is to perform better on field. What they owe to players is just what is written on the contract. They are obligated to pay him for the time period when he is at the club. For the player, he still has the choice. He can stay here and collect the wages he was promised. But the club is not obligated to play him or to pay him when he is elsewhere.

It's just a business negotiation in the end. Both sides have cards to play. Let's see how it turns out.

most reports say the deal is done no words about if it's transfer or contract termination.

Apparently an agreement has been reached to terminate his deal and he is joining Bache.

Mod Edit: APPARENTLY IS NOT A SOURCE
You need to write:

HairSprayGooners understands... etc etc

the BBC phrase you know, stolen by every unreliable hack source ever since.
