Find the outrage at Terry a bit pathetic. As cringy as it was, the game meant nothing.

It was a league game, it was NOT a John Terry testamonial, Sunderland were already relegated the last thing they want is for the game is be elongated because they have to applaud a narcissistic, philandering, racist off the pitch.

Just the latest in a long line of events showing the complete absence of any class, manners or respect from player and club.

Captain, leader, bellend.

thought that was unbelieveable - like you say it was a proper league game not a f*****g testimonial, FA bending over to the big clubs (except us of course) again

Pretty silly reactions here honestly guys, imagine if it was a club hero and we'd just won the league? Doubt anyone would have a problem.

Agree with this. It was a nice gesture and people are just flipping their **** because it's A: Chelsea and B: John Terry.

Not a big fan of him obviously but he's a club legend and easily a top 10 PL player.

Don't understand the big deal. Just the other week people were saying that Chelsea treated their legends like ****.

Per Mertesacker reveals Arsenal's sneaky tactic for dealing with Diego Costa

‘We went to work on Diego Costa,’ he told reporters after his heroic performance.

‘Rob was giving him a really hard time. I kept patting him on the back, being friendly, while Rob kept on talking to him. A good double act. It was very exciting to see how quickly things can turn.

Costa eventually did score but it was cancelled out just seconds later

‘What was really important was that we kept on running with Costa, to make sure those long balls didn’t get to him.
‘We were prepared for that. Especially when Fabregas came on, we were ready to run back to cut out those long balls over the top that he plays.

Mertesacker had played just 37 minutes all season prior to the FA Cup ‘You have to say it couldn’t have gone much better for us. The team’s performance was incredible. I don’t know how many would have expected that.’

Has Chelsea announced a donation to the Grenfell Tower victims yet? After all, it is their borough.
