Just went to see if the odd, bitter bastards on bluemoon had changed their opinion following the ridiculous defence 115 have put out, but alas no.

They are seriously doubling down on being the victims in all this. 😂
There is some of them online now saying that City and the PL should sit down to resolve this in a way that the City isn’t the ones that suffer when the owners pull the plug on the money being pumped into it.

Which translates to - they know they’re ****ed.
The same fans would have laughed in your face a few months ago if you even suggested they’d get as little as a transfer ban. Now they’re wanting the club, and PL, to act in the best interest of the City itself.
Pure desperation

No country should be in a position to be beholden to extortion. The notion that the UK can't find less odious investment is nonsensical.
The UK is clearly a desire place for investment. Why else did the UAE choose to do what they did with City? It wasn’t a charity case lol

By the way PL and FA got greedy. Some investigations must happen also on people working there.

Now because of this massive scale of cheating we could very well be looking at people who have nothing to do with football suffer.

I think like many warned before that clubs should not be backed by a state.

Uk is broke. We not in position to fall out with UAE. I think if City gets guaranteed no other club will sue them and the owner stays. They take 100 point deduction and hefty fine. But after the premier league, the fa, other clubs, hmrc and fit and proper test is waiting for them. All this fighting and threats is to do a deal imo

The UAE are also in terrible geopolitical position at the moment. Iran are cooking them, and the west are turning a blind eye on what they’re doing in Sudan. They’re still minnows relative to the UK.

The UK government, famous for not doing unpopular things
I think the PL are trying to do the right thing. They have obviously had to take this process carefully and slowly given they have been up against an army of well-funded lawyers. The tone of the 'guilty' announcement also suggests that they are really p*ss*d-off with MFC, not just because of the wrong doing, but their attitude too. So, I think the PL want to throw the book at them. However.........I suspect that some pressure will be firmly applied, albeit quietly, by this Government, to find a way not to embarrass Monsour and the UAE Royal Family further.

One interesting question not being much discussed is what happened to City’s cheating after 2018. All we know is that the PL investigation stops at 2018 which is the last year in the leaked emails. Doesn’t mean they suddenly cleaned up after that.

In fact it seems unlikely - could they have really jumped in one year from needing a huge illegal subsidy to balance the books to sustainability whilst buying and buying some of the most expensive players and manager in the world?

Even if they did, it’s like the mafia making a huge profit from drugs and prostitution for a decade then laundering the money into legal businesses. The post 2018 funding is hardly clean.

I personally think ****ty remained bent as hell after 2018 but it was so exhausting to investigate the earlier period the PL decided to leave it.

It won’t matter much for points deduction and fines, but I think it would be indefensible to allow them to keep post 2018 titles

The longer it takes the worse it gets for everyone in the league and in the championship.

Even in criminal law there comes a point where you cross the presumption of innocence after a sentence is given, and you have to go to through appeals, etc.

Even if the punishment here ends up being slap on the wrist in the form of a hundreds of millions of pounds fine, it's in the leagues best interest know that a point deduction is not happening?

Interesting how city will be treated in the media now, if they continue to win and stay top of the table. Will Sky still act like nothings happened? Could be weird
Going to feel like the COVID season in a way with something big overhanging the season
