Nothing can cure his idiocy

He has the ability but is a brain explosion away at all times

Just done with him

He so underrated on this forum. He has an error or two in him but the guy loves defending. He has that natural hatred for strikers the kind you see between dog and hare. He wants to make them suffer. Sometimes his enthusiasm causes him to rush things. His beard is not helping either.
He should have made them suffer on the counter-attack before the 2nd goal, just like I remember Guendouzi making a cynical foul around the end of the game.

The stone that the builders refuse
Mustafi can play lights out at times but he's always been reckless. He's calmed down a lot this season. He's too impetuous at times & the penalty was just another example of that.

He is underrated amongst all PL fans, who seem to have the strangest standards. It was clear that his terrible form had a lot to do with bad defensive and personal coaching, as well as zero protection from midfield. He has clearly improved this season and as I have written multiple times is currently better than any CB a team like Man. Utd can field, and that says it all. It's great to drool over the T. Silvas of this world, but they are few in numbers, expensive and still rely on good coaching and defensive organization to perform. Meanwhile, an absolutely fantastic defender like Rudiger is overlooked when he should be praised day and night, Alderweireld and Vertonghen are overrated to the heavens because they play for the media honeys #2, under a very clever manager and in a system that never leaves them exposed, and nobody seems to pay attention to what an awful set of CBs the country's biggest club has, most of which were bought for over 30m apiece, twice the price of Sokratis.

The thing is, if you want place emphasis on playing football out from the back rather than reactionary defending, you need personnel that are composed and know how to shadow opponents to non-threatening areas without diving in.

Mustafi doesn't know how to do this. We’re just happy when he doesn’t make a mistake when really we need a defender who sets the tone for the rest of the team from the back.

An elite CB will be the deciding factor between us and Sp**s for the final CL position.

You need a defender to be calm and calculated at all times, Mustafi is not that guy. Just not dependable and not a player you can trust as he’s always on the brink of a moment of madness no matter his form.

Brainless git. I can now see why Wenger wanted Manolas and Evans instead and was reluctant to pay over 20m for him. He just isn't a smart CB. Don't care about the whatever physical qualities he has....he should be sold.

He’s a Lovren, not a Van Dijk. Hardly headline news. Doesn’t necessarily need to be sold, he isn’t Karius-level damaged goods. Could be back-up or even play next to a great CB. But we’ll get nowhere without a proper player in this defence. Until the club cuts the crap and barges their way to the front for a Koulibaly, Skriniar, Romagnoli, Maguire etc...we’ll just carry on treading water.

I don’t even think we need two world class CBs, we just need to get out of this 3-star hotel era that we’ve found ourselves in. Just one bit of proper quality and we could take off again.

but Holding’s hair transplant was painless
Prone to rashness. Not what title winning defences are built on. He can't be our defensive leader and was expected to today.

Ideally you sell him and Chambers in the summer and bring in quality.

He has actually been alright recently. But you know he has mistakes in him. To not see the player he tackled for the penalty is unbelievable to follow that up with not taking the foul when they were breaking is equally unbelievable. Sokratis wouldn't have made that second mistake.
