Software Update Schedule

As you've all experienced over the last couple of weeks/months, Arsenal Mania has suffered from deep stability issues, coupled with other problems (PMs, long-in issues, etc.) as well.

On that front, and on the basis of the numerous Suggestions from various different Users and the Admin/Mod team, the owners are now working on a change of Board Software.
The current software, phpBB will be replaced by XenForo, as soon as all the testing, troubleshooting, etc. is done, which takes at least about two to three weeks from now on.

I'll be informed by the owners as soon as there's an exact date for the Update, and post it on here.
Implementing the new software will take around three days, and for the meantime when Arsenal Mania won't be accessible, a banner will be installed ("The Arsenal Mania Forum is currently undergoing maintenance improvements") for as long as it takes.

We hope that all these Board issues will be sorted out as soon as the Software Change is done. It's possible though, that some minor Errors may occur only once the Forum is under real use again, so there could be a bit more tweaking needed here and there, until everything runs smoothly.

YESSSSSSSSS.. Such a fantastic news. It feels just like when Welbeck scored the winner at OT.

While at Xenforo, please check into having a similar matchday dedicated page like Mancs do

    <a class="postlink" href="http://www.redcafe.net/match-day/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.redcafe.net/match-day/</a>

Really looking forward to see the new software in place.

Will the Lobby remain and will we be able to discuss things other than football, on the new forum?

Re: UPDATE: Software Update scheduled for Saturday 28th Marc

The testing is done, and the Update is scheduled for the coming weekend, starting tomorrow (March 28th), because of the international break - at least once these breaks are of any use.

However, the site will be transfered to XenForo this weekend, and the work should be done until Monday, March 30th. In meantime, the Forums won't be accessible, as posted above.

Accounts, Posts, Avatars, etc. will be transfered as well so there shouldn't be any kind of rebuilding work for any of you come Monday. As I said above, there could still be some issues after the change was made, but let's hope for the best.

It'll need some more tweaks here and there but for now the transition seems to have worked.
