What do you guys think of Marc Bartra from Barcelona B? He's supposedly the "next Gerard Pique" and is available for only €8 Million. I'm surprised we are not all over him.

Cech, ospina/scezsney

Bellerin/debuchy
Koscielny/mertesacker/Gabriel/chambers
Monreal/Gibbs

Xhaka, Coquelin
Wilshere, elneny
Özil, cazorla

Theo, Ramsey, Ox
Giroud, wellbeck**
Alexis, iwobi, Campbell

Fairly solid outfit when fit, Wellbeck only one out, until you get to our attackers.

Obviously need that striker as an addition.
Need an upgrade on Walcott
Need to look at a replacement soon for mertesacker.

Not really a lot to do, but we'll somehow stuff it up.....

Watching our season review and here are some things that stuck out for me

- Monreal is vital to this team, he was immense in buildup in most of our goals, best LB in the league for me no question
- Gabriel should not be playing any games, some comical mistakes
- We really, really need a top CB - I find this more important than a striker, we gave up some really sloppy goals
- Giroud was absolutely immense the first half of the season, if he can find that form he is a real problem for defenses
- WORK ON DEFENDING SET PIECES

If I'd be absolutely ruthless:

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Cech (Ospina) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Bellerin (buy) - Kos (Chambers) - buy (Per) - Nacho (Gibbs)
- - - - - - - - - - - - Santi (El-Neny) - Xhaka (Coq) - - - - - - - - - - - - -
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Özil (Wilshere) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
- - buy (Campbell) - - - - - buy (Giroud) - - - - - Alexis (Iwobi) - -

Extra: Welbeck
Note: I'd see Iwobi as back-up for Özil but both him and Wilshere can play on several positions.
I'd be in favor of getting Rodriguez on the cheap for LB if that option is still open.

Out: Debuchy, Jenkinson, Gabriel, Arteta, Flamini, Rosicky, Ramsey, Walcott, Oxlade-Chamberlain.

In: back-up RB, starting CB, Xhaka, starting RW, starting ST

Even with our injury problems, I'm against having too big a squad. Around 23 players is fine and generally I think PL teams are too afraid to play youth players when both options in one position are injured. If your team is solid, putting in one talent (Gnabry or something) shouldn't be a problem. Moreover, many of these players are able to play in several positions.

If I'm more realistic:
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Cech (Ospina) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Bellerin (Jenk) - Kos (Chambers) - Gabriel (Per) - Nacho (Gibbs)
- - - - - - - - - - - - Santi (Wilshere) - Xhaka (Coq) - - - - - - - - - - - - -
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Özil (Ramsey) - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
- - Walcott (Ox) - - - - - buy (Giroud) - - - - - Alexis (Iwobi) - -

But to me, RW and CB are high-priority targets too, would be such a shame if we didn't strengthen in these areas. Walcott is useless, and Ox is too stupid to make it here.

Wholeheartedly agree that a top top CB has to come in this summer.

Using his strengths (lay offs and dragging defenders around) is why I think he could work well in a pair.
