Some decent progress clearing out the squad, contracts ending and freeing up wages so far, few more to go.

Tierney - 110k
Partey - 200k
Jorginho - 110k
Tomiyasu - 100k
Sterling - 162k
Neto - 50k

More to leave?

Nelson - 100k
Zinchenko - 150k
Vieira - 82k
Lokonga - 52k

We actually don’t have many bad contracts but guys like Calafiori and Jesus are real worries injury wise going forward, you look at someone like Havertz being at 265k but he’s at least reliable injury wise.

I'd rather Martinelli or Trossard on the LW lol

It's obviously a good side, would depend on luck with injuries and how VVD/ Salah cope getting older, I think Liverpool are better though

Martinelli over Madueke, but he's good for cover.

Gyorkores, Zubi + Eze and the title race would be really close.

Martinelli - Gyokeres - Saka
Rice - Zubimendi - Eze
MLS - Gabriel - Saliba - Timber
Raya

Notable bench players:
Ødegaard, Havertz, Madueke

Lets put that up against the 3 rivals in the Premier League

Liverpool

Wirtz - Ekitike - Salah
Mac Allister - Gravenbech - Szoboszlai
Kerkez - Van Dijk - Konate - Frimpong
Alisson

Notable bench players:
Gakpo, Diaz, Jones

Man City

Doku - Haaland - Savinho
Reijnders - Rodri - Silva
Ait Nouri - Gvardiol - Dias - Nunes
Ederson

Notable bench players:
Cherki, Marmoush, Foden, Gonzales

Chelsea

Gittens - Pedro - Palmer
Enzo - Lavia - Caicedo
Cucurella - Fofana - Colwill - James
Sanchez

Notable bench players:
Estevao, Santos, Neto, Delap, Jackson

On paper the best 11 is Liverpool>Arsenal>City>Chelsea

Squad depth = City>Chelsea>Liverpool/Arsenal

My 1st choice main team

Rodrygo/Martinelli Gyokeres Saka
Rice Zubi Ødegaard (c)
MLS Gabriel Saliba Timber
Raya.

I'll wait till I see our full strength squad after the window before naming the 9 subs.

Anyway imo, if we still manage to get Gyokeres & Eze/Madueke, that will give us so much more depth front line then we did last season! Kai & GJ will be back from injury too then Nwaneri too.

What a ****ing beautiful team. Add a left winger to that and man… footballing 🌽 I tell you.

I said in the Zubimendi transfer thread- we’re gonna be playing quicker, slicker footy this season. Gyokeres isn’t a drop in and link player, we need to get the ball forward quickly to him and as often as we can in the opposition box.

Zubimendi is a proper string puller. We played some fantastic stuff with Jorginho at the base of midfield, Zubi in there is like Jorgi x50. He can punch the ball through to Ødegaard who can play higher up. He can also pick out Rice who’s galloping runs will disorientate the opposition defence.

PL Champions 25/26. We will be there.

If Nwaneri is what I think he is...he will break into our starting 11 somewhere. A popular player may become benched.

I agree with you, too much talent and very effective in central areas.

For me a very dangerous 3 behind Cf would be Madueke-Nwaneri-Saka, Madueke to stretch the play and cut back and Nwaneri steppping into taking shots from middle.. Saka to do his thing.

I’d like to see this when Ode needs a breather.

This is it. People keep complaining about less minutes for Nwaneri with the incomings, but if you are to succeed at Arsenal you need to compete with the best. Both Nwaneri and Dowman know this when they sign new contracts

3rd depending on injuries, could be second again.

I think what we’ve done is created the highest floor in the league. Think we’re probably the safest team in the top 4.

But our ceiling isn’t what Liverpool or City’s is, which was the aim of this transfer window.

Bringing in a LW (Rodrygo number 1 option, Eze back up) is crucial.

Nah come on man. We have a mobile Jorginho now in the middle, our star players have proper back ups, we have a striker who will **** somebody's wife to score a goal.

First is what I think we can and should do. Mop the floor with the lower league teams, no more ****ups against the likes of Brentford and West Ham at home will give us a the edge. And I really think that with the additions we now made, we can do that.

Eze or Rodrygo on top would be great, but there are no excuses. Our team looks really good.

I think our squad is a lot stronger now, and a lot depends on injuries.

I dont see any massive upgrades we’ve made though. I think Zubi will be really good but Jorginho and he who must not be named were solid players.

With Gyok you don’t really know what you’re going to get. Hopefully he bangs and if so will boost us.

It comes down to the LW for me. Bring in Rodrygo and I’d be very confident about the upcoming season.

True, but now we have added Madueke, Gyokeres to our existing frontline, which means you won't get games where we play Tierney Merino Nwaneri in a must win game and have no other options. You don't know what you'll get for sure but there's 99% chance it's a hell of a lot better than what we had.

Basically the same level team as last year with a striker (who is a gamble). No. Especially how our rivals have been strengthening.

People always forget that every team is constantly improving. So even an improvement in your XI is sometimes just keeping you with the pack.

We would hopefully fix our striker issue, but we also have creativity and a LHS issue. This would not fix it.

Exactly Liverpool won the league, signed Wirtz and want to sign the best striker at a PL club who doesn't play for City.

Real Madrid sign the best, Barcelona broke their transfer record left and right when they had prime Messi.

Only at Arsenal FC, do we stand still and look at that as improvement. Thank god we've changed in that regard somewhat. I'm still scarred by the summer where we only signed a washed up Cech.

Saka should surely give up penalties now right?

Free kicks will be interesting. Rice should be the favorite, but I have seen some good FKs from Gyok in his compilations.

Arsenal Quotes

The only moment of possible happiness is the present. The past gives regrets. And future uncertainties. Man quickly realised this and created religion. It forgives him what he has done wrong in the past and tells him not to worry about the future, as you will go to paradise.
