Why is he now the DM that we trust all defensive shielding to. Also why doesn't he try to pass it forward to the good outliers like Laca and Özil. Something has changed with the boy since he signed.

Replacing him for N'Zonzi won't change a thing.

Fair enough if the big man wants to adapt his players a little but it seems to me that we bought a DLP type and now want him to only shield and pass it short.

That in itself is fine but why can't he play a long pass every so often to keep his opponents back a little. Especially when you consider we are suspect to turning over ball in the middle and Xhaka doesn't have the legs to get back and cover.

Also can we please stop the talk about Wenger making someone a star. He is as likely to convert an attacking talent to a defender as he is to improve him these days.

Walcott landed as a top paced young striker and had to spend the next few years on the wing so he could learn how to defend. FFS the guy would put a stud horse pulling a plough

Got a feeling N'zonzi (if we sign him) will be used as DM competition with Xhaka and one of Wilshere /Ramsey partnering him with the other being used in a more advanced role when Alexis departs.
N'zonzi could even be used alongside Xhaka.

You stole my thoughts....N'Zonzi is the first one I thought of after finding that Fabinho is heading to Pool. If we can't get a player of the Fabinho/ N'Zonzi caliber to stabilize our MF, we should have reasons for concern.
