Takehiro Tomiyasu: Back Tak, Or Sack?

Unpopular opinion, but the guy misses on average 67 days per season with injuries. Now add the Asian Cup time he will be away. I'm sorry but we must keep away from players like this, as much as I like him and I do...but he cannot be taken serious. Simple as. Thats 2 month per year out injured, and we all know you do not just come back match sharp, you come back fit, sure, but players need a few games to get that game sharpness back...so the amount of time to really have him at 100% is much longer then the 2 months he is out . And now, every time the Asian Cup roles around you add another month of this. Nah, you cannot have people like this in the team, and then cry that you have bad luck with injuries and it affected the season, thats just bad preparation. Not even gonna mention that the guy he is fighting for the left back spot is also injury prone, and Timber got one of the worst injuries a football player can get. Then you have to factor in that on right side we only have Ben White who can never take a break because Tomyiasu cannot stay fit to save his life. Even if we extend, just sell in the summer and get a proper player. Not a real player

How TF can you predict the future when you sign a player? This isn’t Minority Report with Tom Cruse running a future injury scouting team powered by Quantum computers.

Pity he can’t play against Liverpool, but good to have our man back soon.

Wonderful stuff. He's a great defender. Fitness isn't the most reliable but glad he's staying around

Afraid we'll lament this extension after he breaks down again, but I love the player.

I'd rather we replace him than extend him, I don't rate him enough on the ball. Fine defender, though.

He should be a CB. That’s his natural position

Who says he’s not?

Gabriel and Saliba are always fit tho, touch wood. It’s incredible to have a guy like Tomi who can step in anywhere in the back line to a high level

Arsenal Quotes

In 1997/98 we became English champions as I had set myself three missions to carry out which I felt were essential. One: to have an impact on the result and the team's playing style. Two: to foster the player's individual development. Three: to strengthen the structure of the club and enhance its global influence.
