Again I don't want to ask these questions but the guy unless he done his ACL he shouldn't be out that long. There must be something more going on because I mean why he not part of the team that gone to Dubai even if he injured Saka is still injured and went with team

Is he just bunking?

As much as I’d like to get rid it would be mean Arteta’s attention in the window will move to a defender, which we know he can’t resist.

Just keep him about and put him on the Ledley King training programme.

I'm pretty sure it's something mental. Hopefully we'll see him feature soon or I think he might be done with football altogether.

yes i'm sure there something mentally with him don't look himself after his first season here. injures sometimes make players worse mentally because it stop them doing the job they like. but we'll never know until Tomi come out and talk what been going with him.

He is Japanese, he will not come out and say what's going on.

They only gave him an additional year on top of his current contract. It expires in 2026, so only one more year left. He makes 100K/w, so it's not a huge financial burden on the club. But people do love to moan about it.

But you extend a player's contract by a year to protect his market value.

It was pointless because because he can't stay fit. No one's buying him and we already knew he was very injury prone before the extension.

Yeah, it's not like he's part of, and count as a member of the squad or anything like that.

Arsenal are not slow to get deals done, anyway. I'm sure needing to replace Zinchenko/Kiwior when they leave in the summer and accounting for Tomi's absence won't put any dents on our budget or hinder us from quickly getting other stuff done in attack in time for pre season.

It's fine, really. Jason's got this.

He was extended last season when he was playing an important role, they decided to reward him even knowing his injury history. Even the fans here loved Tomi last season. The club gambled a little there and lost. Next season Tomi will get that Tierney role and treatment as deep end on the bench. But it's not like he's Jesus or Havertz who are sucking the finances out of the club with their bloated contracts. In hindsight he should have been sold when Bayern was sniffing around, same as Tierney when NUFC was offering something, but Arsenal got greedy with the demands. But those missed opportunities are not that grand and other bigger more successful clubs have those mishaps too.

Great, more deadwood we're lumbered with.

This summer we have a lot of injury prone players to move on...

KT - going Celtic
Zinny - shouldn't be too hard to sell
Jesus - will Teta be brave enough to admit defeat & move him on ?
Tomi - will anyone want this guy ? Injured more than available & goes AWOL for half a season. WTF 😂
Sambi - hopefully someone will take a punt on him

Unreal we replace KT with Zinny & replaced Zinny with Cala. All my massive injury liabilities ffs. Thank fck MLS has broken thru. He's Myles better than them all too haha

Yeah. I was against it at the time.

Stupid move.

I think there must be something in the background we're not privy to. If, as it's been alluded to in this thread that Tomi is struggling mentally then I can totally see why we extended his contract. That's the sort of thing we do.

I like him a lot but we have no defensive backup because guys like him, Zinchenko, Tierney, even Timber and Cala are always injured. Puts such a strain on Gabriel, Saliba.

We probably won’t be able to sell but sucks next season he will play and be a free agent no transfer fee. No more charity FC.
