For the start of the new season, Arsenal Mania has relaunched the news side of the site. All articles are written by genuine Arsenal fans with no hidden agenda. You can visit the site via the menu at the top of the forum pages or go direct to our homepage

Additionally, Arsenal Mania is now sending all its registered members a bi-weekly Briefing Bulletin containing a digest of news and views from both parts of the site. Some of you may have already received the first edition and those that haven't should do so before the big kick off against United. Takehiro Tomiyasu: Back Tak, Or Sack?

Yousif Arsenal

Was on Vinai's payroll; misses 4th place trophy 🏆
You have to just feel sorry for him yes the guy still earning money doing nothing we all love to be in thier position still they not doing what they love.

Overall I don't think Tomi will ever play regularly his career is basically over similar to Jesus you can't have many surgeries in your knee and expect to be back the same

Would make no sense to sell him right now, nobody is going to pay anything for him. Might as well let him rehab and return.

Definitely can't be planning with him being a rotation player anymore, though, which means we'll need to sign a defender in the summer again sadly.

His contract is over in 2026 so he’s only here for like a year longer no need to bring the pitchforks out.

No one ever this type of energy for Tierney, is it an underbelly colour thing?
C'mon man you know full well there were pages of people asking for TP5 and KT to be turned into glue when they had major injury problems. And going back further the same for Wilshere and Rosicky.

Not Özil though. There was never anything actually wrong with him 🤣

Yes we are all Ben White supremacist racists I confess it. That's why we want Saka, Timber, Gabriel, Nwaneri, Saliba, MLS to stay. It's a cunning plan so people don't realise our entire purpose in life is to be racist towards Tomiyasu. We want Sterling to leave because despite his indubitable brilliance we are racists.

Got to think his career at Arsenal is finished if his contract is up the summer of 2026? Unless he comes back ahead of schedule and puts in consistent performances like peak Lauren or Sagna then there’s zero reason he gets an extension.
Feel for the guy because he’s a quality player but his injury record is shocking.

I reckon there will be a story about this on a podcast in 10 years. Back-to-back surgeries, and complete silence over half a season? Not sure what I expected but it sounds a bit odd to me.

It's at the stage now where you could never rely on him as an option. He's flimsier than KT FFS.

Don't understand why we renewed him.

I feel for him on a personal level. Hopefully he gets fit and has a good career because he's a decent player. But it's not going to be here.

What I don't understand is why has it taken until now for him to undergo surgery on an injury that has been impacting him since the summer?

Surely, this is gross negligence on the part of the club doctors. Presumably, he had regular scans, so they would have known long before now that it wasn't healing according to plan. Now he's out for the rest of the year, let alone the season. Unbelievable, Jeff.

I guess not everyone fancies going under the knife unless it's the last resort. Also, it seems like surgery tends to correct most of these niggling problems. After TP5's he's been quite available now. Same for Smith-Rowe at Fulham. Jesus was doing quite great as well before he got his other knee fvcked. Early days for White. However, this is a small sample size, but it bodes well thus far. So maybe the surgery will turn things around, who knows? At the very least so he can rebuild his fitness and his sale value.

Arsenal Quotes

The club changed so much, I changed with it and football has changed with us... But one thing never changes: the 90 minutes still belong to the player, 90 minutes during which he is king.
