Takuma Asano: Welcome to Arsenal!

Asano played well and as Red said above, the staff looked well pleased with him. The lad is lighting quick and would love to see in a race with Walcot.

I thought his movement off-the-ball was very good; always made himself available in a good position whenever the team had a chance to play on counter-attack. Also got one good chance to score a goal but, unfortunately, he put it wide.

Decision-making in general was decent, but many of his attempts to take on an opponent resulted in failure. Quite often that he tried to outpace his opposition but got overpowered by the physical strength instead and he lost the ball. Dribble skill was there and it was easy on the eye, just none of the feints yet which will be necessary in the future if he wants to become a multi-dimensional attacking player/forward.

It could just be that he needs to get used to guys being better at defending then he was used to in Japan and I think he will adjust to that in time as he seems a very intelligent player/person and willing to learn.

Assisted Stuttgarts second goal - was a cross to Großkreutz. In addition he got standing ovation when he gets substitute 68. Minute.
According to the commentator he played a realy good game.
Very good for him, that Luhukuay (Ex-Coach) left the club, because the manager have signed him but wasn't a favourite from the coach.

Looks like the little lad has balls and grit.

I love that [mod edit: Japanese people] are kinda crazy so I guess we will have these compilations of Asano's matches every week. We can have our own little scouting consensus while watching.

Bundesliga 2 isn't a good look. Playing time or not. Can't see him actually making the bench here let alone the grade.

Coquelin came straight from Charlton into our first XI. Asano is playing for a top team in Bundesliga 2. Don't write him off yet

Mahrez came from Ligue 2 in France, Vardy from like the conference to begin with, Holding from League 2....etc there are countless examples.

At this stage in his career (He's only a year older than the likes of Iwobi and Holding) playing time at the highest level possible is far more important than anything else.

It should also be said that Stuttgart will be in the battle for Promotion to the Bundesliga and currently sit 2nd.

I didn't say "playing in a crap league = automatically ****". Just that players who get loaned out from here, who get loaned out to a crap team usually don't make the grade. What players under the Wenger reign have been loaned out to crap leagues and have made the grade? Not many, In fact. Maybe 1 if we're counting.
