You can definitely argue that they got the process or the targets wrong this summer but we were obviously willing to spend a lot of money for some of the biggest names in world football and didn't fail because the owners 'lost interest'.

Really weird attitude to have currently. One of the players that we didnt go all out for (Mudryk), his low cost replacement was key in winning the title.

If the manager was as obsessed with the attack as he is with trying to win 60 matches 1-0, the funds were there to buy someone other than Alvarez or Vini. They didn't make those funds available for those 2 players and then tell him he couldn't have anyone else if those fell through. The manager did what he has done multiple times now and refused to deviate from who he wanted.

The next time he spends a summer courting a player who doesn't want to play for him, funds will again be available for him to fail to convince them and then fold his arms and buy nobody. He's done this 3-4 times now with both Edu and Berta and still hasn't learned anything.

What I hope the rest of us learn is that the next time he moans about the fine margins in the box after we lose to a team because we conceded 1 or 2 goals, he's not going to fix that problem. He's going to leave it as a built in crutch when his first choice turns HIM down.

He's been chasing Alvarez for over a year and he and Rogers play 2 different positions. He absolutely was turned down by his first choice to take over as the 9. Barcola also obviously wasn't his 2nd choice, he very clearly was not ahead of Vini Jr in the pecking order now was he? If you're going to try to be slick, make sure you have the facilities.
