The day our season finally ended after a month long disaster

Never before have i felt the contrast of agony to ecstasy so soon as the 84th to the 85th minute. Dumfahking arse commentator said the 4th goal deems the penalty decision irrelevant...yeah cos cesc would have been our only defender against babel if we were still winning, dum c*nt. Our season fell apart in such a spectacular fashion.

2 inncorrect penalty decisions conned us out of that match...if toures’ foul was a penalty the hleb’s was 12 penalty’s and a 16 match game. I think toure was absolute dogcrap all night defensivly but that was not a penalty, come on.....

We can discuss the reasons for this season going to po until our fingertips bleed and our keyboards disintegrate, and i have been saying that again and again that we cant blame officials and that it is our own fault. But if either of them decisions were correct then we would be in the semis, diabolical referring...i though the European referring standard was meant to be higher...i tell you i get frustrated with premiership refs but give me a howard webb and he’s have got them right. Our 2 matchs and who do we get given? Kuyts’ godfather and a swede that is only in the completion because anders frisk got scared of mourinhio and gave up his position as the swede quota. Reffing to that standard may be acceptable when you are officiating ABBA fc vs HOTUB and SAUNA utd, but that was just pathetic (sorry for any minor racism)...you’d think our football purist philosophy would make us popular with game officials ... apparently not.

infact, in the wider context, consider the wrong decisions made against us (i’m thinking Birmingham pen, all the goals disallowed for our offside/allowed for the oppo offside)..and bear in mind that the last month has been because of our reaction to the brum game..we’d have the prem tied up and sailed throught to the semi’s of this

Ok, so i’ll get to this match...the ratings bear in mind a great first half hour- but also an awful last 60

Almunia-5.5- i don’t think any of the goals were his fault, and i (as you may well know) have faith in his ability, but did nothing but the bare basics tonight- kicking was accurate, but ade dosent challenge for them so they are pointless,...you cant have a great game if you let in 4 odd goals,

( mind you- reina was far worse, again- terrible on diaby’s goal and his distribution was suicidal )

Toure-3- our worst player- fine going forward...i cant remember and i’m not likely to sit through the pain of watching it again, but he may have had a part to play ina whole host of the goals..just lost players, gave the ref the chance to give the pen, was positionally clueless..this is one diabolical game too many, i want to know what the hell the ivory coast did to their players...eboue, and particularly kolo have been dogshite since they’ve come back, poor poor poor...just poor, where has the player who i thought was one of the best SB’s in the premiership one...apart from the goals he didn’t do his job in times that led to nothing.

Galas-6- thought he did ok today, an inspiration captain he wernt though. No one out there was prepared to take some responsibility for winning the game until Walcott came on. All in all wil was fine

Senderos-4- stupidly booked early on, lost the ‘nimble’ hypia, and was more or less wholly responsibly for their goal and letting them back into a match that, according to the first half hour, was all but ours for the taking. Generally found himself in places he didn’t want to be doing things he didn’t want to do

Clichy-6- was ok, vacated the LB spot too much really when we were chasing the game, hasn’t been good since the brum game

Eboue-4- the complete lack of an end ball deems his presence on the pitch nothing more than a quick wall to bounce the ball of off, usful for 1-2s.....had a golden opportunity to cross to ade and ballsed it up..see toure for the ivory coast player ruining tornament reference....eboue wasn’t maradona in the first place but.........his continual place at RM is one of those great mysteries in life, like the Bermuda triangle, and spontainious human combustion.....and stuff...maybe one day he will spontainious human combust..............then wenger will have to start someone else, no, he’d still start eboue’s charred left foot, mounted on a remote control car, which will, incidently, perhaps do a better job because it isn’t hindered with eboue’s brain- which is, by all accounts, that of a 3 year old hippo (sorry manu, when i get over tonight i’ll retract the above!)

Cesc-6- totally looked like the occasion got to him, when we scored our first goal he did that strange ‘i might cry/ might puke’ face, i couldn’t help but think- that is not a goal to get emotional to, that is a goal to forget about and get on with the job in hand, passing was sloppy- see clichy for ‘hasnt recovered since the brum game’....disregarding Milan...suffered from loosing flams, resorted to the long ball to ade too often, didn’t creating anything- wasn’t the leader he was in the san siro mascerano and alsonso dealt with him like he was Robbie savage

Flamini-7-(for the 20 mins he did)aaaaaaaaaaahhhhhh, why did the little scrunt munchling have to get injured, took away urgency, took away leadership, took away a hell of a lot, i think he has been decent in the last month, which is more than i can say for most of our squad...who knows what would have happend if he had stayed on the pitch

Diaby-7- good goal, smack it and see, luckily reina is the worst goalkeeper in the top 8 or 9 prem clubs so in went in..othereise decent- helped the crocked gilb and absent clichy out...probably would have been better off keeping the guy on the pitch seeing as he had a goal, and should be fresh cos of his suspension..has been interminably inconsistent this season, as well as injured..but tonight, couldn’t really fault him

Hleb-5.5- frustrates me more than porn with plotlines....if you asked hleb to pop down the shops to pick up some milk, he would jump on a flight to bemuda, get on the train, change his clothes, go undercover to steal a goat from the local mafia, sto away on a ship carrying cotton going to china, find a tricycle to take him to Tibet (where admittedly he may sort out the political unrest with his smile and wit) and then get a taxi all the way to paris before jumping on the eurostar...and then he’d remember he left the milk on the cotton ship..so he’d just walk into the stop ‘n’ shop to get a pint of milk 200 yards from the door....as always, very little he tried came off....wasnt bad in any real way, just (after the first half hour, like all our players) failed to get a foothold in the game

Ade-6- decent finish on a goal made by Walcott, fluffed another opportunity...the difference between adebayor and torres was the difference between arsenal and Liverpool....inconsistent finishing, dosent challenge for aerial balls...couldn’t time a run off the last defender if his life depended on it...is another one of these players who has been really really poor recently, really, really, really poor- really poor, poor, just really poor

Gilberto-6- tried as hard as his cracking leperlike legs could take him..in all fairness he completely did did job, was solid in defence- obviously provided nothing in attack but, a solid game from him

Walcott-9- for the wonder goal- exactly what we need, he gains 2 point for taking the ball all the way from the edge of our area and putting it on a plate for ade...the urgency we needed, it will probably shatter the poor lad that the team couldn’t let him have his moment of glory

Vanpersie-3- fit my arse....that is all...

What an unmitigated disaster. I’ve blamed the refs in the initial part but i’ve had a little time to cool.....the fact is....i thought that our squad was too weak to cope, i was wrong- it isn’t, we saw at Milan, we say for the first 30 today and the last 30 at Bolton...and just about every pre-brum game...even eboue and diaby can be good..........................but they haven’t been, they just haven’t performed, they mentally crumbled- and maybe that tells you that the geuinly is lacking some mental strength and experience. But galas, flamini, cesc, hleb, ade, vanpersie, ade..they all have the ability to grab the game by the scruff of the neck, but they just plain haven’t, for one reason or another they haven’t taken responsibility.

In that way i’m reluctant to blame wenger as what more could he do, literally crawl in their ears and go to the ‘bottle it’ section of the brain and disenable it.

Our players are prepared to lose everything because they know they have the ‘inexperienced youngsters’ labell to fall back on...it’s not acceptable. And wenger has just perpetuated that- benitez said it isn’t fair to labell us ‘inexperienced youngsters’ anymore...he’s right this team has been in the making for 3 or 4 years.....wenger disagreed, he tried to be a smartass and argue the semantics of the statement citing ages..that’ snot the point and he knows it..it is wenger’s ready made get out clause, if you prepare your get out clause before the match- tell the world and our players about it- that is the wrong message....we’ve been around, we’ve got to the stage where our opponents take us seriously- but we do not take ourselves seriously.

So, i am pretty sure i have contradicted myself on a number of occasions there......but i don’t think this is knee jerky...well actually it is the definition of knee jerking, but it is well considered knee jerking; hell i am a self contradicting oxymoron machine.

So that’s what i think, our season was pushed off the top of a gentle hill at Birmingham, we didn’t have the mental strength, organisation, or leadership, to stand back up and trudge to the front..and everytime we did get back to our feet, some fascist bloke in black came along and ensured our steady progress down the hill...well we’ve hit the bottom of the hill now, it will be a little bit of time (the end of the seaon) before we finally come to rest in a dirty stagnant stream filled with shopping trollies and condoms...but our plave there is assured.

Manu.....we’ll see you on Sunday, we are here for the taking, i would day after that performance half our squad should be dropped.........but i can remember the last time we played a weak team against manu.....mind you it would suit wenger- get your get out clauses out early ‘we errr, we errr we could notter win today, because we field weak team” or whatever

My wrists are slit and i’m moving on to my ankles, it will be my throat by midnight...

Night, all!!

Sorry for the somewhat unorthodox grammar and spelling, this was kind of a stream of consciousness thing! I might go back through this tomorrow and correct it...if i can face it

Hello there as you can guess from my username I am a liverpool supporter. Just read ure thread and in all fairness I think u were way off the mark. Arsenal played superb, yes we were lucky with the penalty but in the end we finished off the game which Arsenal just can't seem 2 do. Yeah u play 'beautiful football' but that doesn't always guaruntee u wins does it?

Bottom line is - I came on here to say (I've never actually come on another club's website) Arsenal played well, we played better and we won. Now pick yorselves up, and go give man u a rite thrashin on sunday.
