I don’t remember ever seeing us getting scored on first so many games in a row.

I happen to agree with this which is why I think even if we spend money on rebuilding for Ange it will end in disaster.

I am of the opinion that his system is flawed and the underlying philosophy and tactical foundation is the issue.

I don't think losing 4 games on the trot for the first time in 20 years along with the other statistics you have shared is a fluke or a run of "bad form".

I would love if he did turn it around because I want to avoid another managerial change and I actually want the club to build something behind someone we can trust.

I just have a lot of doubts he can turn it around tbh.

Quite a beautiful bit of irony in the fact that we have had two managers with a strictly rigid and inflexible tactical setup who have key positions with absolutely ****e players at their disposal. Conte whose system was entirely dependent on the wing backs to create had Royal and Davies and now Ange whose system is entirely dependent on the wingers being productive in 1v1 scenarios has Johnson and Kulu.

Funny that if we had Udogie and Porro when Conte was about it might have been quite different, and thinking about it now a younger Son and even ****ing Lucas Moura might have been a better shout for Ange.

De Zerbi is a system manager. He just inherited a team that fit his style as he was similar to Potter. Brighton actually had Ange as their first choice but he chose to stay at Celtic as he had only just arrived. Brighton have a style of play then get the manager that fits the style, ie they have a plan of recruitment and vision, we don’t or didn’t hence why our team fits no manager.

many of our fans are happy with the status quo of being in and around the top 6 with regular European football. This IS success to them.

No fans of any other big 6 club, or any club with our immeasurable wealth, would have such low goals. It's the dream scenario for our **** chairman / Owners.

I mean, can you imagine any Woolwich or Chelsea fan being happy with 10th and a league cup?
Of course not. And neither should we be. We are, after all, London's richest club.

It’s quite frustrating. Add to that Werner and Johnson aren’t good enough and contribute to the defensive problems and unless they are improved on along with a striker it will be the same next season as the second half of the last one.

It’s feeling like I’m just completely wasting my time on this set up now and waiting for him to do himself out of a job, which is a shame.

Better performance in the cups. Quarter-finals or better in all 3.

Top 6 and success in the cups = good season
Top 4 and under-performance in the cups = crap season

That forward line doesn't have the nous or ability to get us anywhere near glory. As it stands my expectations are so low that all I'm expecting to come from this season is a few youngsters show some potential. Not really good enough for how we're run and our revenue but you just have to accept it for what it is. Hope for the best expect last seasons results with last seasons set up.

Could be anywhere between fourth and 9th, don't think for a second that we will come even close to challenging next season. With a bit of luck we might do well in one of the cups and who knows, but you are not gonna expect us to win anything as things stand.

Would love tho see us have a real go in the domestic cups and Europa League though, even at the expense of the league if necessary.

A few of us myself included, have concerns that, it appears the openess and naivety is still there.
We all want the exciting attacking football but, we don't want the opposition looking likely to score every time they cross the halfway line.
It's way too end to end, lime being back in the school playground.

I originally and somewhat optimistically had us down for a cup double. Given where the squad is at, I think 7th is about right… but it could be worse as a few other sides appear to have strengthened.

The most worrying aspect of firing him midseason when he hasn't been given the tools to get the job done is that this continues an undeniable trend of the board paying for beer and expecting champagne.

What top class manager will work for us after that? Yet another manager not given the players needed for our (supposed) aspirations?

Two European champions managed for us in recent times, and the board was still too cheap to back them. They both departed under a cloud blaming the club's lack of ambition. If they didn't have confidence in these managers, why would any prospective manager think he'd be backed? Why would he think he could succeed where these have failed?

Why is that?

First of all, it's Ange's second year, the year it usually comes together for his teams. Second it's not Ange's first year, where players gets injured due to higher intensity both in training at matches.
Third, we now have a #9 that doesn't break down for 12 weeks of a walk in the park or stubbing a toenail. Hopefully can One of Solanke and Richarlison stay whole most of the season. Fourth. Bergvall and Gray looks like they can make an impact this year.
