He can and has put it performances that equal some of the best that Vermaelens put in for us, the key is consistency, if/when he discovers it he'll be classed as a phenomenal CB.
It's actually the amount of low-profile mistakes that go unpunished that worry me most..blaze_of_glory said:Also agree that Kos is a lot better than people give him credit for. When he's on his game he is an outstanding defender. Pretty much cannot be beat one on one, wins balls in the air, good passer, fast, good positioning, can carry the ball out of the back if need be...
He's just has made some high-profile mistakes that people won't seem to let go.

A mistake can be any form misjudgement, so in answer to your question, blatantly yes.blaze_of_glory said:If a mistake goes unpunished, is it a mistake?

"For me, we have a strong central defence now. Mertesacker is an outstanding player, (whereas) Koscielny will be an outstanding player - he is slowly getting there - and there is Djourou, Squillaci and Vermaelen.

And for those still delusional over Koscielny's place in the pecking order, this pretty much confirms Vermaelen and Mertersacker are ahead of him, shockingly...
