Sounds like a metaphor for the journalistic policy the tabloids take at this time of year (and the intervening months).

I know what will happen as well but we might as well discuss the other transfers and there is still a 0.1% chance of us signing someone.

A signing would really ease some of the pain from today.

City have had 2 bids rejected for Adam Johnson from Boro. Good player mind.
Begovic is meant to be on his way to Stoke.
Victor Moses has signed for Wigan.

Bojinov is moving to Parma from City.

David Villa would be an "ok" signing. Although, maybe a replica of the Premier League trophy, would do much better, have a greater impact.

For those who were hoping for either deep in their minds and hearts...

10.00 Klaas-Jan Huntelaar and Mathieu Flamini have confirmed they intend to stay at AC Milan at least until the end of the season. Dutch striker Huntelaar has been linked with several Premier League clubs, while former Arsenal midfielder was a target for Manchester City.
