Think this is one of my weaker draft teams, every point is a bonus to me. Great attack that’s it.Soon. Thoughts on your opening result?
I’ll post the @A_G vs @Sapient Hawk result later tonight when I get back.
Currently sinking pints ahead of the big Swiss - Bosnia game.

@A_G @Sapient Hawk
So now we come to the second game in the Group of Death. I will be writing up this game to maintain objectivity. Today we have a former CL Draft Champion Carlo A_Gelotti opening up against the former whipping boy of these drafts Vincent del Hawkue.

I say former because Sapient has somehow assembled himself a squad… yes there are still some tried and tested donkeys such as Ze Kalanga and Georges Bregy but he also has his old favourites Walter Samuel and Frank De Boer as well as a Golden Boot winner in Oleg Salenko and EVEN a future Ballon d’Or winner in Matthias Sammer!
Hopes are high as the Hawks board their plane, let’s hope they’re not weighed down by either the expectations or the decadent pre match meal cooked by their own manager who bizarrely fired the team’s chef as he felt he could do it better.

Pre-match pleasantaries between these two gentlemen are nothing but cordial and the fans settle in for an absolute cracker.

Unfortunately for the Hawks it seems the five course meal right before kick off has slowed them down and they can barely run let alone play out of a ferocious @A_G press. Frank De Boer hits a lackadaisical pass out towards Finidi George which is intercepted by a marauding Edgar Davids.
He fires the ball quickly into Baggio who’s half turn puts poor Guardado in the spin cycle and it’s an easy slide rule pass to Mbappe – the goal is gaping but he slides it across the box for…

NEYMARRRRRRR! It’s a PSG throwback 1-2 punch at this World Cup and that was worryingly easy for them to slice open this Hawks defence.
Almost straight from the kick off PSG are in again, with a great Amrabat diagonal finding Neymar who knocks it round Leonardo and looks to shoot… OH HE’S ELBOWED IN THE FACE BY SAMUEL!
View attachment 48083
A violent act of thuggery from the Hawks skipper and the referee awards the penalty! Red card will surely follow for that BUT NO! The referee doesn’t even show him a yellow card!? Terrible decision.
View attachment 48081
As Neymar is off the pitch with blood flowing from his nose it’ll instead be Mbappe to take the penalty. Up he steps and… 2-0! This game might well be done.

Sapient decides to deal with this in traditional fashion and the games turn into a brawl when Walter Samuel knees Mbappe as he runs past celebrating… incredibly the referee misses it AGAIN!! @A_G is mad with rage on the sideline!

Even more classic Hawk football as the hoof comes out and they start punting it up the pitch for big man Salenko to battle with the opposing centre backs. After one Costacurta lob wedge the Russian draws in two defenders but takes it on his chest with some excellent close control. He’s dragged down as he turns the ball round the corner but the referee waves advantage…
Because Harry Kewell is through on goal!! Out comes Kahn… Kewell shifts his body and tries to place it in the far corner… WHAT A SAVE FROM KAHN!

Incredible effort to steer it round the post.
That save seems to knock the stuffing out of the Hawks and from the corner Guardado floats a terrible ball in which misses everyone and instead finds Davids on the edge of his own box with room to run and counter.
Head up he sees Mbappe bending his run. He hits it into space and not even a foul from Samuel could save the Hawks as Mbappe has dusted the entire back line. Into the box he stares down Rogerio Ceni and… PUTS IT PAST HIM FOR 3-0!

Right on the stroke of half time and surely that’s game over.
Second half sees changes for A_G as he rests his starters from the Hawks violent onslaught and brings on Eriksen, Rigobert Song and Vitinha. @Sapient Hawk perhaps waving the white flag calls for his donkeys and on come Lalas, Bregy and Massinga.
One man who isn’t resting is Mbappe who is looking for his hat trick and after another disgraceful foul on the substitute Eriksen by Samuel who again goes unpunished, the Frenchman has a free kick in a good position.

He discusses with Baggio who leaves it for him, deep breath from Mbappe… he begins his run up and… CURLS IT INTO THE TOP CORNER! No chance for Rogerio Ceni who just stood and admired and that is the hat-trick for Mbappe.

The rest of the game is played at a walking pace as both teams seem keen for the final whistle. In the dying minutes though a short corner is well worked by Eriksen and Mbappe on the right side. Ball comes across the edge of the box… where Vitinha runs onto it… and THE SUBSTITUTE GUIDES IT JUST UNDER THE BAR FOR 5-0!! WHAT A HIT!

Humiliation complete the ref mercifully blows the final whistle shortly after and you have to wonder whether the pressure was too much for the Hawks? That was an abysmal display and they already look like they’ve got one foot on the plane home.

Ceni was some keeper, he scored 131 goals, mostly from free kicks. Shame he didn’t get a chance to showcase his speciality.Pre-match meal a hit with the players? Check
Heroic display that showcased Team Hawk's abilities? Check
Walter Samuel's unrelenting symphony of destruction continues unabated? Check
Once again, this has the makings of a Team Hawk masterclass![]()

First me losing by three and now hawk with five. Getting the feeling this might be a bit rigged against dusty teams!
Are you questioning Chairman Rex’s handpicked refs?Since when does being in your own half rule out a red especially when it's Kompany vs Pedro?
