We go into the final matchday of Group A with the table as follows:

A cagey start to the Albakos-4Juan6 battle so we'll go to Sam Matterface keeping a close eye on his mates @Sanchez11 and @Riou:

An early corner for Sanchriou, they've made a bright start...inswinging ball comes in, cleared intially but it finds its way to Sulley Muntari just inside the box and he has a go....



Gooooal!!! 1-0 to Sanchriou after a clever left footed finish from Muntari and it's enough not only give them the lead on the night, but take them through to the knockouts as it stands

Not much action in the other game in the group until Albakos FC find themselves with a counter attacking opportunity after a corner at the other end. Ronaldo races through and seems to be clear on goal when he's clipped from behind...





He looks at the referee... he points to the spot!! Penalty to @albakos!! He was taken out by Ballack from behind who survives a sending off because Kim was coming around on the cover.

Suker steps up to take it...



Sends the keeper the wrong way....



1-0 to albakos!! Cool as you like from Suker and 4Juan6 can only watch as albakos runs down the touchline celebrating.

Back in the other game, Rex FC are trying to get back into the match despite the fact that they're already through. Griezmann is growing in influence and gets free down the right wing, before cutting back inside. He squares up the defender and waits for him to commit, before rolling a pass back for Veron to run on to...

Rex-Sanchriou is heating up and so too is the other game in the group, with the dislike between the two coaching staffs starting to spill out onto the pitch. Tackles flying in from all side and bookings galore as the ref struggles to get a grip on the game, and just when it looks like things have calmed down Totti poleaxes Wesley Sneijder in full view of the ref!!



Another booking, this time for the Italian!! Sneijder certainly felt that one..



The ref holds the board up for stoppage time as 4Juan6 win the ball back and look to launch one last attack before the break. Cristiano Ronaldo finally gets into the action and manages to isolate Lahm on the wing, before breezing past him. He gets his head up and plays a dangerous ball into the six yard box...



The look on Marquez's face says it all!! He's stuck a leg out and put it into his own net to make it 1-1!! JMB jumps off the bench to celebrate with his subs as albakos throws a water bottle in disgust!! A priceless equaliser right before halftime, and with the other game going into a break all three teams are still in the mix to qualify. Our halftime scores are:

The games kick-off at the same time, but we see instant action from Sanchriou as they come flying out of the blocks. Rui Costa beats his man with ease and heads down the wing, before finding Del Piero. He returns the ball almost immediately to the Portugal man who fires a shot at goal...



A stunning finish!! Rui Costa fires into the roof of the net to give Sanchriou a 2-0 lead!! A huge goal that almost certainly kills the game as Rex's players are clearly not at the races!! Sanchez and Riou celebrate, but know their fate relies on what happens elsewhere...

News of the Sanchriou goal filters around the ground as JMB is in an uncomfortable position. He is still going through on goals scored, but it's a delicate situation. A goal in either game could change things and on that note, Albakos FC come forward dangerously with Lewandowski proving to be a handful shortly after coming on. He holds the ball up before getting it out wide to Steven Gerrard who takes a touch before wrapping his foot around the cross...



Right on to the head of Lewandowski to make it 2-1!! A huge goal in the context of the group, with Sanchriou now pulling ahead of JMB on goal difference. More muted celebrations from Albakos who knows he still needs three more goals to go through, but it's a start.

A tweet from @Rex Caudillo stating "2-1 at Albakos" sends the ground into a frenzy, safe in the knowledge that they're going through at the moment. Sanchriou decide to take their foot off the gas slightly, hoping to see out a comfortable 2-0 win. Subs galore on both sides with the managers effectively shaking hands on a result midway through the second half.

No handshakes for Albakos and JMB, both of whom are desperately trying to nip ahead of Sanchriou in the table. In desperate need of a goal, 4Juan6 give the ball to their talisman and hope he can pull out a moment of magic...

Casillas gets across to save it!! Despite being a relative midget for a GK, he manages to keep it out to Ronaldo's disbelief...



While 4Juan6 push for a goal to send them through, Sanchriou continue to stay resolute in defence and dominate possession. Rex Caudillo has even left the dugout, such is his disinterest in the game. It looks like a procession now for the Yorkshire/Northern Irish duo, who are nervously keeping up to date with what's happening elsewhere...

Back in Emiratebakos Stadium, the home team seem resigned to the fact that they won't be going through due to not having enough time to score 3 more goals. It seems their focus now is on stopping 4Juan6 from qualifying by keeping this to 2-1, and they break the game up with fouls constantly to prevent any momentum from building. They do bring on Shaqiri and Eto'o to give them more on the break, but can't seem to really generate any attacks.

With time slipping away, 4Juan6 decide to throw the kitchen sink at Albakos. Mo Salah comes on and forms a front three along with Ronaldo and Tevez as they change the shape. A few crosses come to nothing until they recycle possession and the ball comes to Totti. He plays the ball out to the right half space for Ballack and makes a run into the box before the cross comes in...



Masherano heads it out for a corner!! His teammates celebrate but he tells them to get back in position to defend. The ensuing corner comes in and is dealt with, but the ball comes back at them immediately as they struggle to push up the pitch. Ballack again has the ball on the right side of the pitch and floats a delicious ball into the far post...



Ronaldo stabs it in!!! He runs off in celebration knowing he's just scored the goal to send 4Juan6 through and break Sanchriou's hearts!! Ronaldo notices that none of his teammates have joined him before he looks over his shoulder...



He's been given offside!! Ronaldo cannot believe it as the goal is chalked off by the linesman!! JMB and 416 drop to their knees as the Quarter-Final dream is snatched away from them.



"Jeff, isn't it funny that the linesman hasn't used his flag once the entire game until now?"

That knocks the stuffing out of 4Juan6, who are unable to muster another meaningful attack. Albakos is able to hold on and secure the win despite missing out on the next stage. At least he took JMBaby down with him.

Spoiler: GROUP B MATCHDAY 3

Group B draws to a close with it all to play for. @Makingtrax leads the way and only needs a point against the group's whipping boys TNN to qualify. Meanwhile @OnlyOne and @dashsnow17 will battle it out to join the quantum mechanics enthusiast in the quarte-finals.

With so much riding on both games, expect plenty of twists and turns here...

The first action of the day comes between Makingtrax and TNN as the favourites look to take control of the game early on. Messi is at the centre of proceedings from the opening kick-off and is already proving a handful to deal with. He goes on a slaloming run and forces the defenders to commit, before playing Kane with a clever threaded pass...

He was never going to miss from six yards out!! 1-0 to Makingtrax in the opening 10 minutes and they're well on their way to the quarter-finals!! A dream start for Trax and any pre-match nerves have been settled now.

Not much happening in the other game, with both teams having a chance of progression it's been a predictably cagey start. Dashsnow's men try to build with some possession at the back but a slip from Essien presents the ball to Honda and he releases Gyan through on goal...



But it's slightly overhit and Ochoa is out to claim it!! His quick thinking prevented Gyan from having a clear sight of goal.

Meanwhile at Old Traxford, the group leaders are showing patience as they look to double their lead and put the game to bed. Messi continues to run the game and this time he gets down the outside before teeing a cross to the back post for Chicharito...



His sidefoot volley just goes over!! He should've hit the target from there, but TNN FC are on the ropes as Makingtrax's men turn the screw.

Just when it looks like the game is becoming a procession for Trax, TNN FC have a rare foray forward as they epxloit their numerical superiority on the wings. Trax's 4-4-2 diamond has left them bare out wide and the wing-backs for TNN are getting joy going forward. Beckham gets a foot on the ball and whips in a trademark cross...



Nodded home by Dembele!! He gets just enough contact on the cross to guide it into the net using the pace on the ball to make it 1-1!! TNN FC have nothing to play for but they've shown some fight here!!

Still a tactical affair between Dash and OnlyOne and it's just as well because the action in the other game is heating up. The goal has rocked Makingtrax and give TNN encouragement as they begin to gain a foothold in the game. They come forward again with the wing-backs having the freedom of the park and this time it's Damien Duff down the left causing all sorts of problems. An argument over who's going to take the free kick and it looks to have been won by El Hadj Diouf who stands over the ball. A booking for the German and a free kick just outside the box for OO FC. With only minutes to go, this could be the last real sight of goal for them. An argument over who's going to take the free kick and it looks to have been won by El Hadj Diouf who stands over the ball. He takes a deep breath as the ref blows the whistle and prepares to run up...

He smashes it straight into the wall and gets an earful from his teammates!! He argues back but stops when his own manager calls him a "wazzock". Dashsnow's men clear the danger and are waiting for the ref's final whistle.
