Tbf it's been international break and players like Nelson, Willock, and Cedric who weren't involved with their national teams need match fitness. Cedric will likely start on Thursday. Hopefully Nelson does too (and ESR, rather see him than Willock, but doubt he starts).
Nelson really shouldn't be playing u-23's at this stage. Messed up badly not finding a loan for him.

Just a run of the mill match fitness game, Nelson had a minor knock that kept him out of U21 England action if I recall. No problem here IMO

The first team talents and Cedric never trained with the U23, so even if they are playing, they aren't fully motivated or are in a good system.
The others from the U23 aren't very talented, nearly everyone talented is on loan. So the U23 isn't quite interesting this season.

Hard to fault the u23. We sent many players on loan and then signed a lot of trash to fill the squad. Will probably be very low in the table this season.
