There's actually really good swap potential in our squad to get Grealish in an Arsenal shirt.

Partey links have cooled down but maybe a deal is on the cards, a decent alternative could be Milinkovic Savic, could cost a bit more but doable.

Marquee center back signing, like the idea of Ruben Dias, because of he's age, other names have been thrown about too, like Carlos.

I still think Arsenal could do with another winger, like the idea of Everton Soares, seems to have pedigree.

Also a younger striker to bed in, somebody like Jovic.

Also, Mikel Oyarzabal could be a shot in the dark.

I hear your points and I agree Xhaka & Ceballos wouldn't of even been in consideration six weeks ago. I just think that they've struck up a great partnership together and we need to maximise the output out of the pair as long as we can.

Equally you can move Grealish into the middle into a three and put Saka at LW for certain games. It's a long season and everyone will get their fair share of games as we've seen this season.

Benrahma looks quality but I think Grealish just edges it for me due to the Prem experience & the fact he's displayed he can stand up and be counted as a leader in his team.

Also think Brentford will demand a big fee for Benrahma if they go up which makes the move less attractive.

I'd love an Odegaard/Aouar but I don't think we are in the market for that type of player. If we get Partey or a specialist DM, I think it will be a hybrid LW who can play infield like a Grealish or Benrahma; evident as Arteta has said he's targeting a left sided player iirc.

Not for this season but my god I hope we are looking at Frimpong. Another outstanding game from the young Dutch man.

Class. Edouard hattie as well. Let's hope KT taps Edouard up and he brings Frimpong with him.

I like Ajer also. Would be good to strike up a good relationship with Celtic, always a few unearthed quality talents in their ranks & you can generally get SPL players at a good price.

Ajer has went off the boil. this time last year I was high up on his potential but he seems to have gone over confident which is a worry. AC Milan apparently looking at him and I don't think we should get involved. there are certain things you need to watch for. Ability being one the other being even though you know you can stroll through a game you do so without fault. Ajer has this tendency only developed in the last 12 months to jump in sometimes it works other times it takes him out of the game. I dare say it happens due to over confidence and at a higher level could be removed but he shouldnt be doing it. He should read the game better and not rely on team mates bailing him out when it goes against him.

Frimpong looks a real talent. 19 year old Man Citt academy product. They are producing fantastic players. This time next year it Bellerin is still questionable we should move for him.

    Edouard, nothing needs said.

This guy would be perfect CF for us, he can drop deep, hold up, bring others into play, he can dribble carrying the ball, create his own chances, create chances for us, is quick and has great strength. He's absolutely perfect for what Arteta wants of the CF.

Yeah, I would definitely be happy with Grealish, just a little conflicted because I hope we find plenty of gametime for Saka to develop. I wonder what type of fee he would command and I would only get him if our issues at CB and CM are solved first.

Benrahma might indeed be too expensive if Brentford go up.

With regards to the Xhaka & Ceballos partnership. It has been very good for us defensively but in possession I think it really offers us too little. Our side completely lacks creativity. I haven't seen a more boring Arsenal with so few nice team goals before this season for a long time. It is why I would not get Ceballos for €20m this season unless we sell Xhaka. Our road back to the top (four) should see us transition back to creative and beautiful football that Arsenal is known and loved for. That means a midfield three where all players are sound technically and we have at least one creative player able to spot the pass. That's why we musn't keep both.

If I may spice up my wishlist because we qualified for the Europa League, I would target my first choice CB: Dias. I only wonder how he would do on the left-side of a CB partnership.

I'm assuming Arteta wants to keep Auba on the wing, hence why I go for a (false) 9 rather than Benrahma/Grealish.

Out: Guendouzi, Lacazette, Sokratis, Kolasinac, Mkhitaryan, Elneny, Mustafi, Holding, Torreira, Xhaka, Chambers (winter), Sheaf, Balogun

In: Dias, Partey, Ceballos (loan+option), Buendia (Aouar if funds allow), Depay

Ideally, I'd get rid of Cedric as well and sign Bogle. Would also like us to sign a talented young LB to deputize for Tierney.

    Martinez
    Bellerin - Saliba - Dias - Tierney
    Ceballos
    Partey - Buendia
    Pepe - Depay - Aubameyang

    Leno
    Cedric - Luiz - Marí - ???/Saka
    Maitland-Niles
    Willock - Saka/ESR
    Nelson - Nketiah - Martinelli

He is also improving in the air. My number 1 target. Get Lacazette out and get this guy in.

    Auba---Edouard---Pepe

That is an absolutely frightening interchangeable front line.

This was a great post. Long but really well considered opinions.

I agree that Carlos seems like a great fit and is just entering his prime years.

I just wonder if we want a more focused number 10 specialist instead of Grealish if we’re spending big.
Not sure that we want to play Partey, Xhaka and Ceballos as the mid 3 at the same time.

All in all, agree and this strengthens us in the areas we need most while staying realistic.

I'm convinced now Auba's position is left wing. I think Auba's numbers go up another level with Edouard at 9. The guy really does have everything.

Auba-Edouard-Pepe is definetly good enough for top 4 in my opinion, especially with players like Willian (potentially), Saka and Eddie to come off the bench.

I would definitely prioritise Edouard's signing over the more creative midfielders now.

With Özil/Mustafi/Sokratis definitely off the wage bill in 2021, next summer is the summer to target the likes of Grealish/Aouar.

Gabriel/Partey/Ceballos (loan)/Willian/ Edouard would be immense. Of course this is most likely dependent on outgoings.

Edouard and Auoar are definitely the dream signings. I suspect they’re out of our league with finances though.

Can someone tell me what I’m missing about Depay that people want him?
Haven’t seen him play, but he seems like a like for like with Lacazette. Why not just keep our current Lacazette instead of swapping for a new one? It’s cheaper.

I can't really see either being too expensive tbh. I think the numbers quoted for Edouard are around £35m, and with Aouar around £45m. Provide we manage to sell the right players, I think they are doable deals. Can't really see Aouar happening this summer, but if we find a buyer for Lacazette I can see Edouard happening.

Spot on about Depay as well, I really don't understand the hype around him. 5'9 centre forwards with no pace or exceptional skill do not work in the Premier league, Arsenal fans never learn.

    Auba (new deal)
    Ceballos (loan)
    Diego Carlos
    Partey
    Coutinho (loan)
    Willian (free)

    How's that for a summer?

In the context of where the club is currently, and where it needs to be, i'd say 8/10. I'd personally prefer Gabriel to Diego Carlos, and if I am being super greedy, Edouard comes in to replace Lacazette.

Auba/Edouard/Pepe with Coutinho/Willian as creative options, and Ceballos/Partey/Xhaka behind the ball is a serious team.

If we can get that done, the team goes up two or three levels, especially physically and technically.
