One of our longest serving players and a killer in the FA Cup who always bailed us out in difficult times. It's sad that the board didn't go against Emery's wishes.
It would be cool if Arteta could lure him back in some way, because he's collecting dust in Italy.

Think Laca sale balances out the attack so Edouard signing would be pointless.

Depay, Zaha or Willian would be the more likely Laca replacements.

Hm, or you could replace Lacazette with Edouard with minimal net spend, tie Auba to a new deal, play them together and have Auba's replacement already in place when he leaves in a few years time. Worst case scenario Edouard doesn't fulfil his potential and you can still sell him for a good price.

Not sure, think our long term attack will be Saka - Martinelli - Pepe.

You can't plan anything long-term in football. You can hope, but you can't plan. You certainly shouldn't eschew a signing like Edouard just because you have an idea of what a future attack could be, especially when two of those attackers are teenagers and one of them has a serious injury.

Well we seemingly have a 3 year plan in Willian - Auba - Pepe after that we'll obviously sign someone but Saka is our number 7 and a future star. Martinelli up front is obviously not certain yet but I think thats the plan.

Don't think Edouard is the one.

Edouard would have been scouted. Kia is not his agent. No chance now.

The board are delivering to be honest. If I had one request of King Kia, it would be to go all out and get Koulibaly for defence.

I'm happy with with Partey, Ceballos, Willian and Coutinho to fix our midfield and attack.

    Assuming Auba moves centrally:

In: Bogle, Gabriel, Ceballos (loan), Partey, Buendia, Willian

Out: Cedric, Holding, Sokratis, Mustafi, Chambers (winter), Kolasinac, Torreira, Xhaka, Elneny, Guendouzi, Smith-Rowe (loan), Mkhitaryan, Lacazette, Sheaf, Balogun

    Bellerin/Bogle - Saliba/Luiz - Gabriel/Marí - Tierney/AMN/Saka
    /Willock - Buendia/Saka
    Pepe/Nelson - Auba/Nketiah/Martinelli - Willian/Saka

We've actually done a lot so far if you think about it.

    Mari - £7M
    Cedric - FREE
    Saka - long term deal
    Martinelli - long term deal
    Luiz - extension

Auba on a 3 year deal for an extra 100k a week possibly incoming.
Gabriel looking like he'll come in for £28M.
    Partey for £45M.
Willian for around £8-10M for this year.

And then after that we still need a creative player (Coutinho, Buendia, Grealish, Aouar etc) Which even with Coutinho on loan you're probably looking at £15-20M for the year.

That is a huge outlay but of course we are expecting many departures.

Chambers is injured and terrible at right back. Ceballos and Xhaka don't work together in a 3.

Chambers was brilliant at RB first part of this season. Hasnt had a bad peformance at RB sincw swandea all those years ago. If chambers is still go into next season then AMN is our next best peforming RB this season.

Ceballos and Xhaka have been working very well together as a 2 since post lockdown. If accompanied by decent player such as Saka I see the 3 working.

Chambers at right back doesn't get you near top 4.

Xhaka and Ceballos are way too immobile to work in a 3, it hasn't worked any time we've played them in a 3 either. They work well as a 2 with 5 defenders behind them for a reason.

Gabriel, Partey & Willian on permanent deals. Ceballos on loan with option to buy.

    Bellerin/Cedric - Saliba/Chambers - Luiz/Gabriel/Mari - Tierney/Kolasinac
    Partey/Willock - Xhaka/Niles - Ceballos/Smith-Rowe
    Pepe/Nelson - Aubameyang/Martinelli/Nketiah - Willian/Saka*

Saka can also fill in at both CM spots and LB. So he will have no problem getting gametime :)
